Simply do not understand the argument that we dont deserve a PP because "we did it to ourselves."

Every single club that ever gets assistance did it to themselves. Its not like a club had half a side taken out in a plane crash.

All clubs that got a PP drafted poorly. And, in regards to keeping or not keeping old players its just a lucky dip to suit a narrative. Sometimes the media use "they offloaded aging champions too early and forced this on themselves" line (this was used for North last year). In our case, they prefer the "we held on to aging champions too long" line. Literally cannot win. In any event, holding on to older players for longer should count for us. Its not like we gutted the list and then went crawling to the AFL after playing with 18 year olds for 2 years.

And thats where us and Norf differ totally. We gave long contracts to star players to keep a team together to win a flag plus adding Kelly to give us another shot at winning one. We tryed as hard as we could to win premierships. Trying to be successful and being successful put us in this position. Norf gutted their already poor list so they could be putrid. I know which team i would prefer to support. The narrative that we done this to ourselves because we tried to win premierships is close to the dumbest thing i have ever heard from Vic centric media and sh#t there is a never ending list of dumb sh#t to pick from.

It's all about expectations.
I don't think anyone would've thought we'd have won a game by now.

The Crows on the other hand were expected to play finals in a lot of people's eyes.

Their 3 losses have come from sides who didn't play finals last year.

Caro saying we are the weathiest club so should get nothing is a clear indication she has NFI how the AFL operates. Salary caps and football operations soft cap basically makes our wealth worthless when it comes to rebuilding and drafting / trading in talent. If she has a brain its clicked over to stupid troll mode as she certainly isnt using it.

The thing is, I think she probably understands that fine. She's just parroting how the AFL views priority picks. They clearly view priority picks as a means to protect their bottom line and meet growth objectives, not as a tool to better equalise the competition.

What is wild is that she and a heap of media have just accepted that's what it is now. I think, particularly Victorian, media are still scarred by rationalisation in the 90s and will do anything to avoid that.

Sure Swans away is a really great test of where we are at.

Richmond at home in two weeks will be another benchmark. A game we can actually head into thinking we can win. Players know where we are and they know the games that are winable.

With the Crows's terrible start to the year it's the perfect time to get in Dan Curtain's ear. A young team with Johnstone, Hewitt, the 2 Reads and Curtain could really go places.

Agreed. I reckon if Curtin said he wanted to leave they’ll ask for a pick (likely 5-7) that will get them Draper and Harry Barnett in exchange for Curtin and a 2R.

Interesting to hear a different take. I have definitely noticed the improvement around the inside game for sure and it's nice to know that area is 5th-9th in the comp. Hopefully we can start working on some other areas of the game to help with connection between that inside game and some outside play.

We wont fix everything this year but we need a win soon just to get some joy into the rooms.
