lol

This is a true 50/50 to me - should be a cracking game

they are always close but you blokes looked pretty good against Port.

So the jimmies are a bit worried.

We get wright back to the fwdline has a bit more structure. Was woeful against Adelaide. Should have won that by 40+

Way we both played, expect a lot of behinds from both sides lol

Hopefully Pendles plays and gets 10k disposals on Anzac Day. Best Anzac Day player ever of course
Hopefully he gets another BOG and another ANZAC medal.

Also glad you used disposals and not possessions.

He should chalk up 10K disposals.

A possession and disposal aint the same thing.

You can win possession and be tackled and never dispose of the ball. A kick off the ground, and/or a kick-in from full back are examples of a disposal but you are not credited with a possession.

Pendles career tally, currently 9951 possessions and 9995 disposals.

Likely to have a bit of rain on Thurs. Hopefully Bombres go in with all their talls. Maybe Sullivan could be our best choice as sub.

I hate going to the footy when it rains (I just hate rainy weather generally), but it could actually help us having a smaller forward line

Ditto. I'm in the nosebleeds this week - almost always sit M level but for some reason, I wasn't getting through and even as a single seat, got Q (and row S!) - at least I should be undercover.

Definitely would suit our small forwards though. But I'll take a dry game any day of the week. Much better spectacle.

Going to the football on (preferably hot) sunny days is one of life's true joys for me

It's part of what made the 2023 Grand Final so magical

As a person who adores hot hot weather (I won't swim at the beach if it's under 35) going to a Grand Final in 29 degree heat and watching us win a flag is something that is burned in permanently. I remember every part of that week and day thanks to the incredible weather we had all week

If Groundhog day was a real thing that we had the option to enact, I'd definitely pick September 20, 2023

Groundhog Week would be better. That entire week was probably one of the best of my life honestly.

Going to the Grand Final training session with the kids, the Grand Final Parade with the family, having that entire week off work, Grand Final day. The weather played a huge role in that.

But I digress...lol

I always sit on Level 4 in the Shane Warne stand for footy games. We love it up there. So we'll be under cover like yourself anyway

Grand Final day was just perfection really!
Day before pretty great too - I went to the parade but did the MCG tour instead. Saw the rooms etc all set up ready for us.

Watching the replay, since I took the toddler shopping for her first big girl bed, there was just a sense of momentum shifting in our season. Did anyone else see the gears just click? It felt like a gentle picnic turned massacre in the second half of Q2, and port barely tried after that. Hopefully Scotty or Rusty win the medal, because if anyone else wins it, they generally find themselves traded or sent to the knackery within a few years 😂

Forgive me if I’m posting in the wrong place, but does anyone have a spare couple of tickets I could pinch off them? My missus has been nagging me for a date of ANY kind, and mentioned she’s never been to Anzac Day. I understand the tickets are probably all sold. I couldn’t even use my general admission membership. Hard times to be a pies fan!

What do we prefer, a one point miracle, or a 70 point belting?

I’ll take my answer on the lurk…

What is this? You bunch of soft C’s! It’s supposed to be a Winter Sport and we can’t handle a bit of rain.

Hahaha I’m just kidding!!! 😜

Though the final against Dees last year I got drenched sitting on the boundary line. That was only brightened up by the win at the end and I remember the very well many a rainy day watching footy out at VFL Park and much prefer a warmer day.

Waverley was the f**king worst. Bloody rain belt

Then making matters worse out there was the head f**k known as "attempting to leave"

I used to go with my Dad as a kid and it was a nightmare! Reckon I got soaked just about every game I went to! Would sit in the car for an hour after the game, shivering, trying to dry off, waiting for the carpark traffic to subside, before what felt like a super long drive back to Preston.

We're too soft now! lol

Spare a thought for me. Going from Waverley out to Eltham back then

Although the last few years at Waverley we were driving home to North Balwyn which wasn't as bad

Bobby Hill will win his first Anzac Day medal, I feel it in my bones
If not him, then I'd settle for Pendles getting his fourth and having the most in front of Hird who has three
I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly, but was it Malthouse who used to debut a kid on Anzac day every year? Not sure anyone really deserves it at the moment, but if we were hypothetically going to do that, I'd give Allan his shot
Hopefully we don't see first quarter pies vs port show up at all. Can't wait!

Got a feeling it'll be Schultz

I know many (including myself to an extent) have been disappointed with his output at this very early stage, but watching him over the last 3 weeks, he's had three "almost" games?

He kicked one against the Lions but you could see he was trying his guts out. It just wasn't happening for him

He kicked two against Hawthorn but could have easily had 3 or 4 with a touch more luck

He kicked 2 against Port and again, could have easily had 4 or 5

In every game this season he does run hard and is really busting a gut to make a contribution. Especially defensively. I feel like it will all click for him on Thursday. The occasion and the conditions will suit him and he'll thrive I reckon (hope).

He's been eagerly anticipating playing in a "big game" for Collingwood and ANZAC Day is his first real opportunity. Reckon he'll take it with both hands

Rest Sidebottom after the short turnaround and add more speed with Oleg:moustache:

I suspect we'll go in unchanged but I'd be ok with this too

I'd say Pendles over Steele because of the ribs, but I feel like ANZAC Day is one of those games Pendles just gets it done regardless (Steel probably does too more often than not)
