Part of that has to come from players working to give him options within 35m as well.Last week did not have a single kick over about 35 metres. No bombs. None. That’s the difference. Control the football. He’s been told no bombs.
And when you have talented senior guys like Luke Davies-Uniacke, Nick Larkey, Cameron Zurhaar, Tristan Xerri, Jy Simpkin and Bailey Scott to sprinkle over the top, it all adds up to the very competitive outfit that we’ve been seeing from North Melbourne in recent weeks.
was just about to say this. I've got a bad feeling about this week. This is what Denis would do with the media street articles . After all the media love we tend to struggle the next week. View attachment 2044280
2022 assistanceWe need a Rosetta Stone Assistance Package tablet that we can point to any time the inevitable reference to ‘multiple first round picks’ as a leg up is made.
Different era. And it's difficult to rip a smartphone or laptop like it's a piece of paper, probably have an aneurism trying. This is what Denis would do with the media street articles . After all the media love we tend to struggle the next week. View attachment 2044280
Media summary... North Melbourne got five first round priority picks and a raft of other unfair concessions. They were gifted Horne-Francis, Sheezel, Wardlaw and Duursma and they would have Reid too if they had have tanked.2022 assistance
- A 2023 second and third rounder that needed to be traded for players - these were traded for Logue and Tucker
2023 assistance
- One end of first round pick in 2023, two end of first round picks in 2024
The 2023 pick (I believe) was involved in the Fisher trade (the pick we used for Dawson was also in this trade but I think it's a bit tenous to say we got him directly from the priority pick)
-One 2024 pick was involved in the Stephens trade
The other 2024 pick was traded for the pick we used to select Hardeman
End result of all that AFL help is Logue, Tucker, Stephens, Fisher and Hardeman
Every other first round pick that we've made from 2020 onwards has either been our own (Phillips, Horne-Francis, Sheezel, McKercher), acquired in a trade (Powell in the trade of our 2019 first with the Dees, Wardlaw and Goad in the Horne-Francis trade, Dawson in the Fisher trade*) or free agency compensation (Duursma)
I just added that bolded bit on behalf of the media.Media summary... North Melbourne got five first round priority picks and a raft of other unfair concessions. They were gifted Horne-Francis, Sheezel, Wardlaw and Duursma and they would have Reid too if they had have tanked like they should have.
and that comes from other backs having confidence and also players who had led previously having those leads honoured instead of bombing it anyway.Part of that has to come from players working to give him options within 35m as well.

It was ‘why, oh why, didn’t they take Curtin’ from memory.Who was old mate reporter that wrote an article about how terrible our backline was, and how we were silly Billies for going mids over taking care of key defensive positions. Has his view changed over the year?
Or did I dream that article?
Let’s not take it so seriously. This is everything that's wrong with the AFL Media. The story isn't a positive about North it's about Damo saying something positive about North. IT'S NOT ABOUT F*CKING DAMO.
