Like Nick getting 1 vote when he got injured and subbed out early not having an impact while his brother had 34 for no votes. Maybe the umpires are just terrible and shouldn't be doing the judging, have you considered that?

If there ever was an argument to remove the umpires from handing out game day votes and handing it to an independent panel, this is it .

It’s an umpires award. Always has been. I acknowledge the mystery of it.

If you don’t think the umpires should be given this responsibility, then don’t watch.

In case you’ve missed it, I’m no fan of Carlton. But I acknowledge the brilliance of Cripps. The merit of votes he’s received for individual games can be questioned - but over the course of the year, he’s deserving.
