I'm going to preface this by saying that it is hard to make judgements on players when the coaching is so bad.

We have a very good list at the moment that is right in the premiership window. If we had a good coach, we could be talking a dynasty but with Ken, we may be able to jag a flag if we are lucky but as they say, luck fortunes the brave.

PORT ADELAIDE POWER 2025

This is assuming Houston has left.

Rioli, Georgiades, Byrne-Jones
Powell-Pepper, Ratugolea, KPF
Drew, Wines, Burgoyne
Farrell, Aliir, Bergman
Logan Evans, Zerk-Thatcher, Jones

Sweet, Rozee, Butters
Horne-Francis, 2ND, 3RD, 4TH

Players who could be upgraded - Ratugolea, Byrne-Jones
Players getting games but not locks - Mead, Sinn, Visentini, Lorenz
Players yet to debut but close - Jackson, Anastasopoulos

Ratugolea and Byrne-Jones could easily be upgraded.

PLAYER NEEDS

Our major needs in the 22 right now are:

Key Position Forward who can ruck - Charlie Dixon replacement
3rd Tall Forward
Dan Houston replacement - if he leaves

Lesser needs are:

goal kicking small forward
another high quality midfielder - but I always want that

Needs for the future:

Aliir Aliir replacement
Ollie Wines replacement
Willie Rioli replacement

DELISTING AND TRADING PLAYERS

The players who should be seriously looked at being delisted or traded, in order, and contracted:

Trent McKenzie - 2024
Tom Clurey - 2025
Jed McEntee - 2025
Charlie Dixon - 2024
Francis Evans - 2024
Travis Boak - 2024

Dylan Williams - 2025
Ryan Burton - 2024
Quinton Narkle - 2024

Very strong rumours of wanting to be traded:

Dan Houston - 2027
Ivan Soldo - 2025

I don't follow the SANFL but younger guys to be looked at:

Kyle Marshall - 2024
Tom McCallum - 2024

Personally, I would give young players 4 to 6 years to prove themselves especially to key position players unless they are obviously lazy or talentless.

Possible early retirement from brain injuries:

Todd Marshall - 2029

INCOMING

The draft this year is strong and said to have Top 20 players until the 40s.

TRADING IN

Harry Perryman - 2024 - Houston replacement
Joe Richards - 2024 - small forward, 22 or backup
Jack Lukosius - 2026 - overqualified 3rd tall

NGA - Benny Barrett
Father, Son - Louie Montgomery, Rome Burgoyne, Ollie Francou

Pick 36
Houston Pick 1
Houston Pick 2
Soldo Pick

With those possible picks, we should grab the best mid, the best KPF, trade for Lukosuis and then best player available.

PLAYERS IN THE DRAFT I LIKE

Midfielders - Draper, Smilie, Hotton, Lindsay
Key Position - Armstrong, Trainor, Shanahan

The List Management Team have a huge off season ahead of them and if Houston and Soldo leaves and we get good value, it could really help our team sure up good, young players to complement our already good, young list.

If Port don’t do absolutely everything in their power to get a half decent KPF we may as well forfeit next season
Our list is so bad that we need to recruit 10 All Australians to even be competitive. There's only so much magic Kenny Hinkley can perform.

<player name> has been training Tower 7 down.
Looking forward to hearing more of this from the club along with the number of players burning up the track and setting new PBs. The absolute best part of preseason.

Would be an absolute bonus if someone can get the key to the weights room off Chadbro.

How about:

DBJ is not a player I respect or like. Went missing again when it counts. So glad he was removed from the leadership group.
We wouldn't have even been in that game if not for DBJ's performance against Hawthorn the week prior. Or for that matter his performance against Hawthorn in the H&A season.

Once again the hopes of the team rest on sacking Hinkley.

It is probably 6 or7 years overdue but Koch and the board have agendas more important than winning and accountability.

If Ken goes, the renewed optimism will be through the roof and memberships, real memberships will go way up. I think most supporters would see a trajectory towards a premiership. And it could start sooner than exptected.

If Ken stays, I think the team will be in a holding pattern and the plane will eventually run out of fuel and crash and burn. The pressure will build throughout the year. The jokes will get more acerbic and humiliating. Everyone down at the club will be under huge scrutiny. I think it would be an unpleasant year all round with our best case scenario being a hollowed out minor round of wins and the evitable preliminary final loss.

Mate, hate is a strong word. Maybe it's time to go and talk to someone?

Apologies. Was running under the assumption most adults could contextualise statements themselves.

For additional context, when I say “this club sucks” I don’t actually mean the club manifests a vacuum which inhales all matter around it 👍

I wasn't having a go at you, quite the reverse. I'm 100% in agreement & have been for a long time. He's a poster child for our underachievement. He's not a serious footballer but is happy to take serious money.

DBJ is perplexing I mean he's fine in the forward line and creates goals, but he does repeat offend with soft efforts.. If I had a dollar for every time Ginever has pretty much called him soft this year I could get a nice bottle of hooch.
He's been soft for years. Good year when he won our B&F. But generally he's just floated along with little desire to be more than that. He aggravates me more than any other player & it's all about his attitude.

Yes, he played well against the Hawks. Big deal, his other 2 finals were crap. Our standards are so low. He was on the leadership group. He should be bringing that standard to most games not once in every 5 games. He's a massive part of our problem.

Which player laid the tackle to set up that DBJ goal?

Another player who stands up when it counts

Look DBJ has worked out alright as a forward, but as others have mentioned his flaws are horrendously exposed when we aren’t playing well.

He plays so loose that I’m genuinely beginning to wonder if he has some life threatening condition that’ll cause him to explode if he steps within 10 metres of the opposition.

Is he “worse” than the Trio of Tragedy©️? No - but at least I can see them making an effort to beat an opponent 1-on-1. DBJ only looks remotely interested when the ball is loose

I’d have thought you’d be keen on a 6 pack of some craft beer beer cans Jimmy Beer Cans
