Just when our 12 and 14 picks are hitting straps in 2026/27 pies will be on the rapid descent and having to scrap for picks in a draft where Tassie will have the first 20 selections. Good luck to them I say

Reckon we finish top 8 it's a good result. Effectively:
Out: 12, F10+, 34, F28+, Owies
In: 3, F32+, enough points for Campos.

Top 3 picks don't come cheap. 2 mid-range first rounds and a pick in the 30s is about right. We finish outside 8, it begins to look bad. We finish top 4, it looks great.

I absolutely love the boldness of getting 14.

I have to admit that I feel a bit wary about trading 12 & 14 in this deep even draft for 3.

I hope 3 is a one-club superstar who retires with a stack of Premiership medals.

Pies have been pretty good with their assessment of kids in the draft, hopefully Wright has some good intel over this years crop from his time there.

Twomey thinks we'll get picks 3, 63, 68 and give picks 12, 14, 73. If this is right, the draft points value of what we give is 2,438 points compared to 2,405 points for what we give, which is fair.

Not sure how to value Owies in a trade if we haven't offered him a contract and are short of list spots. If WCE want him, the trade ensures he gets there instead of Richmond or North in the PSD.

Yes, I did mention assessment. Some of their outliers have been very good considering what picks they've had to work with.
