Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Tom Barrass!

Id really like to try a tandem half back flankers combo of Sic and Scrimmers next year.

They are close to the best intercept marks in the league and it would be a massive weapon to have them roaming free across half back marking everything in sight and then attacking from half back with their precision kicking.

Battle and Barrass can take the KPFs.

Geez our backline is going to be such a weapon next year, teams will hate playing against us 😁

Congrats on getting TB. Was/Is a fav of all Eagles fans, and we wish him all the best in his career with you guys. One of the more intelligent (Studying a major in Chemistry and Philosophy, with interests in neuroscience, classical physics, quantum mechanics, epistemology, philosophy, and metaphysics.) lateral thinkers in the AFL, so your social media team may have some fun with him.
May have been mentioned earlier, so apologies if it has, but outside some of the things you (and Eagles fans) have said about Tom as a player, is not only the growth and leadership he'll provide for the backs, but what your forwards will learn from him throughout the pre-season and beyond, making them better again. Mitch Lewis, Chol, Calsher will only get better training on TB.

Yet another post that makes me scratch my head and facepalm fiercely at the negative naysaying sooks on here who didn't want him, or at least didn't want to pay what he's clearly worth to the team for the next 4-5 years....

Sam Mitchell contemplating season 2025. d6JQLn2.gif

He now has a deep, talented and flexible playing list

The problem with nominating a lineup is that lineups and matchups are not how the game works. There is a defensive structure and strategy. How players are allocated within that structure depends on the opposition forwards and can change within the course of a game. Player roles are not static. We have half a dozen players who can be assigned to a dangerous forward if we choose to do so. Who gets assigned depends on the dangerous forward. Alternatively we can rely on our structures rather than specific matchups.
Impey and Amon are locks for at least 2 of the smalls. If it's a team like Geelong Dimma would play back and I reckon Frosty plays small on someone like Close. Seamus Mitchell also a fair shout if he can find a bit of form from 2023. There's enough options for every side IMO.

I am all for intellectual curiosity, but that is some spread - risk is that it could get a bit thin.
