Blight and Gray were both Toce selections so I have more than a little faith they can become players. Blight has come back in great condition from the off season, a very good sign.
So so sad what happened with CT, would have been an outstanding Recruiting Boss for us. Will be interesting to see who the Club appoint to replace him.
Interesting that thursfield has had a promotion, reckon we may have chatted to him, wouldnt surprise if giesh is elevated

I really liked the way le fau went about it. But he was not great. 25 y.o. rugby convert. Played mostly in a Lynch & Balta less fwd line. Another ACL injury and 3 kids drafted who can play his spot. Armstrong, Faull and Sims.

Coming off a spoon, the ready to go kids get first crack IMO. Especially Armstrong, Faull & Smilie & Trainor.

Nothing against Fawcett, Blight or Gray but 2 mid season draftees ~ usually short careers. 6 month contact'd be better than 18 month.

Fawcett just sick/injured all year. Looked OK in the VFL but take a miracle to save his career. Especially with Armstrong, Faull and Sims. & Smilie & Trainor being drafted. Trainor can even play forward.
The talls won’t be rushed , they all need to pump some steel in the short term , fawcett and grey I expect to get a gig early and we re expecting lynch to lplay from r1 . For mine sims will be first to debut , has the size to be a threat at afl ,,,still no hurry

Blight played just OK in games that had Balta forward, Miller was the other KPD. Blight will now be behind Balta, Gibcus. Competing with Miller, Young and Trainor & even Broad/Brown.

Gray looked great in the VFL, then injured. the club spoons, Roll round 2025 the club invest ridiculously heavily in talls in the draft and pick 3 players who can play his position. Plus a fit Lynch

Seems like a statement of zero confidence in that current tall players on the list.

Like Fawcett, Gray opened the door to too much competition for his spot . Gibcus played the whole of his debut year, I expect 2 of the built KPFs to do the same

Blight has reportedly slimmed down and looks fitter according to our track watcher on PRE. He can play the game, and likely needed to up his fitness levels to match AFL forwards. This season will reveal if he’s up to it, but he reads the play well from what I’ve seen, and can take those previous intercept marks.

I suspect Ry Gieschen would be in the frame to be our recruiting boss. But suspect we will run a full process like we did when we got Chris Toce and ask applicants to mock draft 2025.

On Sims, Faull is a bulldozer, Armstrong will lead and present with guile and Sims is just power and athletic. Can also chop out in the ruck. I do wonder if Blair sees the game with 1 ruck and 1 forward who can ruck part time.

great traits that'll deliver the VFL team a flag. He won't get picked ahead of Balta, Gibcus. Young was starting KPD under Yze. Miller first in depth queue. Young did his ACL early. Broad & Brown tall defenders.

The future ~ high draft pick Trainor or plug an injury hole~ MS Draftee Blight? I'd be selecting Trainor every chance.

How they all perform over the pre season will determine who plays in the early rounds. And that’s how it should be. If Blight lights it up, they will select him, imo

Think he will become a real option - this pre-season will set him up nicely.

We should do that every year, invite recruiters from every club to apply for our Chief of Leadership, Recruiting position & ask them to do a mock draft.

We had to regenerate our forward line it was bare. Lefau is injured, undersized and let’s face it not much chop. Kosi is not any good, lynch is finished and Fawcett is a project. Ryan can’t mark and gray might be ok but who knows.
This kid can mark and is a bit bigger than faull and Armstrong with good agility. Like it a lot
Bauer ?

Balta can ruck in the backline, Nank in the middle & Sims fwd ( like Hawkins !)
