Could be the second best of the lot after smillie
I would not be laughing at that as back in broads year I said he was the pick of the bunch and some laughed and as it turned out he was the only one to make it lol. We only got this guy as the other options Dobson isn't sure what he wants to play he has passion for another sport.

I honestly had not heard of this guy, given he seems to be more of a forward than a ruck (or am I wrong), why didn’t we just take the fairly highly rated Jack Whitlock?
27 28 I would have gotten both the Whitlock's can never have enough good all rounders and the norf twin is better than balta especially going forward ( as a swingman who knows might even be better all around than clumsy balta). I feel would have been an improvement on Young and Miller ohh well it is what it is time will tell.

Those Dukes 👐

Happy Antonio Banderas GIF

199cm is undersized for a ruck these days, to take 2 KPFs and a KPF/ruck in one draft is a bit odd.

Would have liked maybe a medium defender to come in and balance the draft.
Sims has been compared to Luke Jackson who was drafted 1cm shorter than Sims.

For those unsure on this pick just remember this was a static pick.

E.g someone didn't just take our desired player and now we are quickly on the clock.

This was a clear, calculated and concise selection by the club.

Given how the last 48 hours have gone, in Blair we trust!

I really like Sims, but suddenly our developing talls are Ryan, OHB, Colina, LeFau, Grey, Faull, Armstrong, Bauer Fawcett and Sims.

Some will play ruck, some will be in the Seniors and some (e.g. Grey) probably get shifted back; but I still wonder if that’s too many talls?

We wouldnt want too many rainy days in the VFL this season when we are fielding 15 talls.

Dude this side is going to like a wwe buried alive side it’s going to be funny as

Just enjoy it

Ryan will be the insurance. Sims should move ahead of him in one training session.
both will be depth for Nank. One of the KPFs will be back up ruck on game day. So Sims ruck in the VFL makes Ryan VFL permanent forward. Takes a spot from Grey, Fawcett, Bauer.

Ridiculous Tall fwd lines. VFL Ryan, Kosi, Fawcett, Bauer, Grey, Lefau.

Fawcett, Gray just don't play VFL games at all.

Same in the backline. Blight, Young

Great pick up. He is a ruck in waiting, but can play forward as well. Very few kids with tall genes stop growing at 18 years old, so a good chance to add another couple of cm's. He has a big spring, great frame to put on weight and a very good athlete for his size.

We needed a ruck, but went for a hybrid type, similar to how Brad Ottens started. If he comes on quickly then he will play with Nank, and can rest forward unlike Nank, Soldo or Ryan who have all been tried forward and failed. We will have the luxury of playing 2 rucks without the conundrum of where to put them when not rucking.

I feel people get deceived in rating players talent by the illusion of the mock drafts. When players are chosen by clubs that weren't rated on Mock Drafts, they feel we have made an error or 'reached.' In the end, its about whose judgement you have more confidence in; Twomey or Hartley?

Twomey hated this draft because we wouldn't play ball with him so he was left to ask other club recruiters their best guess who'd we chose after the first few obvious ones. They got in wrong. That doesn't mean we have.

I think this kid shows all the attributes of being a talented ruckman, who can cause a huge amount of headaches when he rests/drifts down forward. Again, its a pick for the future, not for the now.

Every year there is a rough consensus top 10-15 and then it starts to vary with clubs looking for different attributes. This one seemed to go closer to a 25-30 save and except for GWS & Sydney going rogue.

Sims was always thereabouts for top 30 and certainly top 40.
