Leadership group doesn't need to be big.
Mills - Captain
Errol - VC
PaddleBum - VC

Unofficial Leaders:
Rampe - Old dude that still smokes a ciggy in the clubrooms with a beer in hand
Lloyd - Utility leader
Papley - The almost leader and forward leader. Although first task is to teach Dattoli all the tricks of the trade. No, not plumbing trade.
Harry - The geez this guy looks ancient, how is he still getting a game dude, but then you watch and he is a gun. I'm backing Harry to be selected to AA for first time after he has a season of keeping his opponents to 0 goals.

Just cos you don’t wear the badge, doesn’t mean you can’t be a leader.

How about everyone show leadership !!! Tackle someone, win the footy, get bruised once in a while and if your putrid zone defence ain’t working, then mix it up and go man on man.

Don’t care who’s captain, probably the guy who’s best at delivering congrats to the opposition speeches and has better luck tossing coins than Pat Cummins.

I dunno why Heeney gets overlooked.

He should be captain.

I whine about the media team a lot, but I love the focus on the younger guys here, on the week that is really about them. There will be plenty of time over the next 6 months or so to ogle over the stars. I want to see Roberts & Warner Jr. using each other as battering rams. I want to see Dattoli questioning if he chose the right career path on the rope swings. I want to see Indhi Kirk falling to his death taking a mark on Cox's tackle bag.

Daniel Chick spoil and shepherd that won them the 06 GF will forever be itched in my mind.

Disclaimer/Apology if all ready said.

My take on the type of leader/s we need are those that LIFT a team.

Notsomuch someone who supposedly inspires with their own play.

At the GF our team looked defeated, sitting 5 rows from the fence, we could see it in their faces.

I think they were mentally defeated with no mental Plan B.

We needed lifting, we needed a mindset morph.

I'm not sure who that guy/guys as leaders are.

Watching, I see a few too many downhill skiers who play with an uncannily fortuitous reckless abandon.

When things fall apart we need the above mentioned.

PS. Bought my son and I our premiership tix in time for the pack as stocking filler.

PPS. 2025 will be the year I take my son to his first ever home game. I will contact the club to try and organise something special. It will be my first home game since the early 80's

Intel from the video.
Heeney doing laps.
Green not looking so skinny.
Buller fit and in full contact mode.
Corey looking determined.
Andrews has a big smile and seems to be loving it.
Dattoli getting into it.
Bice is of a light build
Roberts struggled a bit .

With all the talk about the grand final failures, players turning up or not, forward and tackle pressure etc... I have to say if people's 22s don't include Fox and Campbell, I don't really rate the analysis.

If we're serious about a harder, defensive edge, and turning up when it most counts, Fox should be one of the first named. I'm sure some will bring up that he wasn't in great form through the whole season, but here's a free suggestion. Cox in the box, lock Fox down back, he'll rock.

Campbell showed against the Bombers late on what he can offer up forward as a goal threat and in pressure (5 tackles, 3 tackles inside 50, 2 goals). Great cameo vs Giants (1 goal, 2 tackles inside 50), 6 tackles vs Port (2 inside 50). Just put him forward, let him go. For reference, only 1 player, min 10 games, averaged over 2 tackles inside 50 in the entire league in 2024.
So...
Cox in the box. Lock down Fox.
Righto Dr Seuss
