That’s dumb. It’s what Carlton do with their high picks and then they end up with back issues when they hit their prime.
Let the talls in particular get afl bodies before we throw them out there.

Concerns me that a few here are overrating him based on 2024 plugging a hole for us for half a dozen matches.
He has a crack, but we now have better options.
He's also not strong enough to sling tackle anyone and get himself rubbed out of contentionAgree with Groupie_
Smith would be the smart bet at the moment, he’s a ball pig, should get games with the likes of Kennedy traded, a competitive team and wont attract a huge amount of attention from oppo’s
Ashcroft would probably be worth a cheeky flutter on as well for similar reasons
Going to cop lots of free kicks as because of his noodle armsHe's also not strong enough to sling tackle anyone and get himself rubbed out of contention
There is no way we play Armstrong and Faull early on together. Bauer 100% takes one of those forward spots and even Kosi plays before the kidsWhat the afl website reckons our best in 2025 ( first part anyway) looks like
4 of our new kids…Lalor,Smillie, Faull and Harry get a gig
…Trainor energ along with Banks, Dow Jimmy T
No team will look more different than Richmond in 2025. The Tigers lost some of their best players – Daniel Rioli, Shai Bolton, Liam Baker and Jack Graham– to other clubs, plus Dustin Martin and Dylan Grimes to retirement. It meant Richmond had six first-round picks in November's Telstra AFL Draft. Sam Lalor, Josh Smillie, Jonty Faull, Luke Trainor and Harry Armstrong are all expected to get plenty of opportunities in Adem Yze's second season in charge, while Taj Hotton is recovering from a knee reconstruction. Judson Clarke, Mykelti Lefau, Tylar Young and Josh Gibcus are all still recovering from ACL tears. - Josh Gabelich
B: Nathan Broad, Noah Balta, Nick Vlastuin
HB: Jayden Short, Josh Gibcus, Tom Brown
C: Jack Ross, Tim Taranto, Hugo Ralphsmith
HF: Rhyan Mansell, Harry Armstrong, Sam Lalor
F: Maurice Rioli jnr, Tom Lynch, Seth Campbell
Foll: Toby Nankervis, Dion Prestia, Jacob Hopper
I/C: Josh Smillie, Ben Miller, Steely Green, Jonty Faull
Emerg: Sam Banks, James Trezise, Luke Trainor, Thomson Dow
Oddly they’ve gone with Gibcus who won’t be available round 1There is no way we play Armstrong and Faull early on together. Bauer 100% takes one of those forward spots and even Kosi plays before the kids
Legitimately no reason to throw them to the sharks like that
Great to see the club invite the families over and make this vid
Love how they are so keen on and proud of being tigers
No doubt the recruits are keen…I was referring to their families…they are all on board as tiger supporters…actually most seem rapt that their sons are tigers…they dodged massive bullets when you.think of the alternatives…Reckon if i had just turned 18 and know I'm earning 100K min in my first year ever, I'd be pretty bloody keen too.
I like it, i'd swap Miller with one of Banks or Smith thoughWhat the afl website reckons our best in 2025 ( first part anyway) looks like

LOL no he wasn't FFS
Talk about trying to re-write history. He might have kicked 2 goals but he touched the ball a total of 3 times. Lynch in the same game he got injured kicked 3 and had 6 marks. You just proved my point that our fans overrate this guy.
What about R5 v Eagles?
12 disposals, 8 marks, 5 tackles and kicked 3.2. Took 6 marks inside 50.
That’s an outstanding game for what was just the 4th game of his career.
Let’s put it this way … Cadman has never taken more than 5 marks in a game. He’s never had more than 12 disposals (he’s got 12 twice in 35 games). He’s never kicked 4-goals (he’s kicked 3 goals 3-times).
And there was a lot of hype about Calsher Dear .. never had more than 12 disposals, never took more than 5 marks and never kicked more than 3 goals.
And JUH … in his first 27-games he never had more than 12 disposals and never took more than 6 marks. In 21 of his first 27 games he kicked 0 or 1 goal.
So Lefau performed admirably in a hopeless team, and we should be really optimistic about what he can deliver for the next 5-6 years.

Built like a brick shWas that Armstrong’s old man? He’s freaking huge
You did...your words and post...LOL if that's the case then what a disaster Curnow & McKay have been for them. Let's wrap all our kids in cotton wool instead of using them. Youre all acting like I said just play the kids, never said that, just said Lefau isn't the answer and I'd rather we play a new player than waste games on him.
The talls in particular have gotta put some size on , grey, fawcett blight can all be given a run while the draftees develop . Hopefully in 12m they all turn out like fawcett hasLOL if that's the case then what a disaster Curnow & McKay have been for them. Let's wrap all our kids in cotton wool instead of using them. Physicality is his main strength - he plays exactly like his rugby background his vice like grip when he tackles is a classic to watch - the ball will spill in packs as a reult of physical presence - he will walk through rather than aroundHe played 10 games in a diabolical team.
There were 67 key forwards to have played 5+ games in 2024.
Avg Goals ranking: 34th of 67
Goal assists: 6th of 67 (yes, 6th!)
SI%: 29th
Inside 50’s: 30th
Marks: 52nd
Disposals: 54th
Tackles: 19th
Tackles I50: 12th
Pressure acts: 7th
Player rating: 49th
So don’t get me wrong, there’s loads of room for improvement. But if Lafau was 19yo in 2024 and not 26yo, we’d all be super excited about what he showed this season. Given his career is just 10 games old and he’s been playing footy for 5 minutes, if ….. and it’s a big jf … he can return to full fitness I believe he will prove to be more than just a handy foil or a reserves back-up.
With his athletic traits, accurate goal kicking and natural improvement he’ll be a real handful for many years in our forward line.
