I was thinking less drooling, less shedding. Still have to watch for hip dysplasia. If he was built like a Newfy, DuckYeah wouldn't be complaining. They are heckin strongly constructed under all that fur.
I dont mind him being lean. He has plenty of time to build. He obviously is building size. Im patient, but a lot in here think he’ll be rolling around like Max Gawn in 2026. Not a chance.

There's an obvious athletic profile comparison that everyone seems reluctant to make: Tim English. I don't know what he's been like recently, but he had a purple patch a while ago where commentators were saying he was the best ruck in the game.

Gawn was drafted in 2009, didn't debut til 2011 and didn't really hit his straps until the second half of 2015.

Had alot of injuries to overcome tho.

We drafted Goad in 2023. If he breaks out in 2027 he is already years ahead of Gawn.

He’s not breaking out in 27. Relax max
Yeah probably not, which is my point.

Gawn's equivalent, if he was drafted with Goad, would be the second half of 2028 and then 2029.

I used to Relax with Max. He'd roll huge spliffs before a gig.

I will be interested to see Goad's role in the VFL this year. If I had to guess, playing primarily forward and being the secondary ruck, rather than the primary ruck role.
We will need CCJ to be fit and playing first ruck in the VFL. Assuming Teakle is playing AFL from round 1, we will probably play Maley and Goad forward, and Whitlock and 2x Dawsons back. There will be competition for Teakle's spot.

The most recent injury report had CCJ returning to full training in May-June. Don't think we'll be getting much out of him unfortunately.

If you’ve been reading the training reports from today, you’ll hear his name mentioned a bit…
I was there Monday & today - he along with Powell & Curtis have been the standouts IMO.
Athletically, he really is a unicorn.
He has put on a tonne of muscle/weight from when he started & looks pretty imposing out there.
Obviously, he will take more time in the VFL to develop & his best place looks to be in the ruck, so I can’t see him playing games anytime soon.
He did ok up forward in the last qtr today, kicking 1.1 from what I remember.
Maybe he is a sneaky chance to play some games this year!?
Very promising signs indeed.
