Lost that game in 2 places. Drinking our bathwater after beating the spooners last week and secondly at the selection table. Finlayson should've been selected. Yes he's been poor lately, but that type of game, with his record against the Bombers suited him as a forward. Soldo forward was a mistake, horrible mistake. Mainly just because Soldo looks like a guy that has been injured all preseason, was poor in ruck and poor up forward. Slow to react, zero impact and completely ineffectual.

Moraes showed some really great composure and skills. He has gone past Boak already.

Berry was so close to being good, but instead was poor and played scared. Those 2-3 panic moments we're Amon like. Gotta shake that off asap.

Rozee is so pathetic, just being danced around and missing tackles all night.

JHF is just nowhere near the level at the moment. Looks like a guy that isn't training at the moment. So scrappy.

Drew should not escape criticism either, he is a barometer for us and was so bad tonight. Poor skills constantly and offered nothing around the ball. He needs to impact more than 15 touches by now.

Honestly Burgoyne, Esava and Aliir saved us from an absolute belting. Bergman was OK, but far out he burns it so bad.


Such a disappointing night where one team came pumped and on edge, and the other team was hoping to just cruise through a bruise free game. They deserved to win by far more, and I'm glad Hinkley didn't score a flukey get out of jail card. Our issues have been glossed over for far too long in games like this.

Honestly not sure I want us to beat the Saints. Lose next week, roll into a loss in Gather Round and theres a chance that Hinkley is sacked right away which would be great.

There’s nothing about Rozee that screams captain. Want someone to win the game for you? It ain’t him. Want someone to drag you over the line? It ain’t him. Want someone to go in hard? Not him. Want someone to put demands on his teammates? Not him. What’s he doing that is captain-like?

I feel like the club doesn't even want a captain that delivers all of those things. Doesn't feel like they want the early 2000's tough Port, instead they just want pretty boys that can pose in photos at trendy coffee shops.

Pity this one , we were probably lucky to be in front for most of the game but then we couldn’t put them away when our accuracy deserted us . ,( even though theirs was worse )
Georgiades started like a house on fire but lost his impact and accuracy ( also forgot how to one on one when the ball was on the ground .
Soldo was a non event, a better back up ruck sure but as predominantly a forward give me Lord and take a bit of a hit in the ruck .
Rozee and JHF were both off their game although JHF fought back a bit , that was probably the main reason we lost .
Sweet was excellent, ilike him , he’s competitive in the ruck and in field play and just seems really connected AND he doesn’t mind using his weight to hurt people , fairly though so well done .Burgoyne was probably our best player , he was immense NWM like and starting to become assured.
Wines was excellent but faded .Bergman good , Moraes was excellent, Berry showed some good glimpses although he had 3 easyish shots at goal and missed them all , Boak was ok but made some critical errors that cost us , along with Rozee errors it didn’t help the cause . Allir was good Ratogalea ok , Mead ok , Rioli ok although we probably missed him deep forward Drew good but faded , Sinn good but faded . Farrell was ok , Evans ok , Byrne Jones was good and made the most of his opportunities. Richards ok .
I was worried pre game because of the side we had in , throw Butters in and we win that game . Probably Marshall as well , he would’ve done a bit .
We just have to hang in there and scrape some wins until we get some troops back and settle a side a bit but looks like it could be a down year

Koch and aren’t sacking Hinkley.
They’d lose face which is far more important to them than port adelaide.

Keeping Hinkley also gives them the added bonus of being able to stick to us supporters.
