Damn, feel sorry for the lad.
Rubbed out for a year, then comes back and is delisted a year late.
Footy is a brutal game in and outside of the oval isn't it!
I wonder if there is any truth in the rumour that Carlisle will be traded in a 3 way deal which will result in Carlisle moving to Hawthorn?
No idea if the deal is legit, or if it’s a BF rumour which has no basis?
I was reading the main thread in the drafting section today.
First, there was a...
How is it dodgy?
The Saints don’t think he’s worth their first round pick (currently pick 5).
The Dons do.
Neither team is willing to budge on their stance.
Hence a stalemate.
I see nothing more than 2 parties trying to negotiate the best deal for their respective side.
Absolutely nothing...
In theory, I thought this would be the case...but in reality not so.
Take Sydney for example: they arguably have the powerful tall forward line in the league with Goods, Buddy, Tippett and Reed. Yet it was all for naught come the last day in September...
I don't disagree that Brown, Petrie...
Lucky you! At least the match is on at a reasonable time...
I'm in Edinburgh, Scotland.
The match starts around 5:30am local time...too late for a pub unfortunately, especially so considering the drinks I've had after work.
I''ll be up early(ish) to watch the match (unsure how, will work it...
I think that’s one of the few truths in footy!
Once again, the midfield battle is where the game will be won or lost.
Envious of the hawks midfield and clean skills…going to be a ripping match tomorrow!
Hi all
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depends on how you see it!) I don't live in oz anymore, so I haven't been able to follow the boys as closely as I'd like.
A reoccurring theme I see in the post-mortem threads is our lack of skills:
Kicks sailing over the head/bouncing at the feet/2 steps...
Of course you're allowed to have an opinion; many people are just saying you're being a tad harsh on a first year draftee who's only played 2 matches to date.
Extreme example I know, but R Harvey and G.Ablett didn't set the world on fire in their second matches...they turned out ok...
Way way way too early to make a call regarding the kid. Reassess after 20 or so games and than make a call.
Plenty of players who look like guns after a couple of games and turn out to be duds, while they are players who didn't set the world on fire in the first few turn out to be excellent...
Dermie is right...Gwilt hasn't played well. Giving Menzel far too much space.
* Dons flame suit*
Perhaps Dermie's comments earlier this week were justified?
Good goals from Billings...but!
Sorry to sound like a whinger, but again the ball was kicked to Roo...right alongside the boundary...in between 2 Carlton players...
Seriously need another key forward who can command possession of the ball. If Roo gets shut down, I wonder if we'll have enough...
Agree 100%
I had us pegged in for winning 6-8 games at the start of this year. I'm over the moon with how the first 5 weeks have turned out. I'd have a guess and say most saints supporters would have been wrapped with St Kilda sporting a 3-2 win/loss start and just sitting outside of the 8 on...
As am I! First live match for the year for me.
Tad concerned for Steven though; first game back without playing any matches for Sandy. How much of this match will he play? Is there a significant chance he'll break down? I certainly hope not!
Agree 100%
Crows are not preforming at the moment...but all it takes is just 1 week for everything to 'click' and the rest is history.
Hope we all see a decent match today. Wish the crows boys all the best..but hoping for a saints win! :)
