The bye round. Please explain
New to Supercoach this year.
It's probably been covered, but I would like to know what all the fuss is with the bye. What strategies are the best to use?
Cheers.
Figured it was time to move away from the "player movements" thread and focus on the season itself.
Looks as though it will be a very interesting season.
Newtown is the big story, of course, but I don't think I'm alone when I say I hope they fail.
Whether or not they win a flag or make...
There's a few decent names being thrown around here, but the big ones are the ex-Geelong players. Big money on Mooney to Newtown, Milburn to North Shore, depending on AFL assistant coaching offers and of course Ling. Personally, I can't see him doing much with local Footy. Has all his business...
Now that we're 5 games in, what are everyone's predictions?
Premier?
Wooden Spoon?
Minor Premier?
Flag Smokie?
Mathieson Medal?
Top 5?
I would have to say that results so far would change most people's preseason predictions.
North Shore has copped the bad end of umpiring for years and years. One game doesn't matter. And the way Lara were behaving, they were all deserved. I think someone is a little bitter on the loss.
Another fantastic game from North Shore on the weekend. The lead was out to 51 points before they took the foot off. James Byrne was absolutely dominant again. Would've have 40+ possesions, 15+ clearances and 5+ score assists to go with his 3 goals. Just fantastic.
It's probably already been mentioned, but as I've just joined this topic, I'm not gonna read all 30 pages. But the reason Rioli gets his own ball is because duds like Mitchell etc can't get it for him. Varcoe has had the luxury of receiving it from Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Enright, Corey, Wojo...
It seems Newtown are in a world of trouble. Plenty of off-field issues is obviously affecting the playing group. Not to mention the 5+ 50m penalties they gave away on the weekend. Seems things aren't looking good at Elderslie Reserve.
Yeah I saw it. Will Slade looked good before coming off with a corked thigh. Only got about a quarter of game time. Licuria is yet to play. Only expecting 5 - 6 games at this stage but the idea there is to teach the youngsters coming through some things.
As for Slade's injury, I'm not 100%...
Should be interesting to see how North Shore go this week against St Josephs. Coming off a great win, this will really tell us where they are at. If they can prove to be competitive this round, I think things are definately on the up at Windsor Park. Thoughts?
North Shore:
James Byrne and Paul Licuria are both expected to play 14 - 15 games. Great news for the Seagulls.
Also, they have just signed Will Slade. Former Geelong player who will slot nicely into CHB at Windsor Park.
I think they should at the very least win a few games this season..
