Look into the future: CYRIL vs VARCOE!

After reviewing the game, I admit I was wrong, Rioli played out the third quarter and came off at the end of it. I watched On The Couch yesterday, and Clarkson said that Rioli came off 5 minutes after the Ellis sub. Stupid me to believe a coach.

While reviewing the game I did get a goal tally +/- for when Rioli was on the ground out of pure interest. While Rioli was on the field Hawthorn were +3, -1 when he was off. Would have been interesting if he had played in the last quarter; of course there is always the Queen's Birthday.

varcoe has improved out of sight the last year or so but rioli is better... not to say that will always be the case though...

varcoe's snap goal tuesday was amazing! But overall I wold take Cyril

Cyril was better yesterday.
Far, far, far more dangerous.
You could argue Varcoe ended up having more effect.

I suggest you guys just get over it.

Two sensible Geelong supporters.

Cyril had an average game on the weekend but these Geelong supporters who trot out the "Cyril is overrated" crap need to get over themselves.

But Rioli was in the best in the paper, and Varcoe not.

Could it be that Rioli is somewhat overrated by the media?

It's probably already been mentioned, but as I've just joined this topic, I'm not gonna read all 30 pages. But the reason Rioli gets his own ball is because duds like Mitchell etc can't get it for him. Varcoe has had the luxury of receiving it from Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Enright, Corey, Wojo etc. Once these players move on, he will take command of a midfield. I just don't think Geelong go handing out the Number 5 to duds.

As the author of the original post, I feel no shame in admitting that Varcoe is STINKING IT UP!!!!!! Needs to lift in a massive massive way, and if the Geelong selection panel was fair dinkum, they'd drop him this week.

Motlop on the other hand, WAY OUT IN FRONT!!! Get around him.

Meh. Christensen, Stokes and Motlop have passed him anyway.

True enough....then again, they didnt miss all of 2012 and 10 weeks of 2013 to serious injury....

Varcoe is a very good player...perhaps thrown in the deep end too soon...but worth being patient with IMO.

So you think Sam Mitchell is a dud.

Get a clue.

classy.

and I'd hardly call a bloke who stood up on GF day and helped deliver a premiership to his club a front runner or a downhill skier ..
Why not, the Geelong Flogs say that about Hodge, even though he tore Geelong a newie on the way to delivering his team a Premiership.
