Think you'll find most sides still retain a fair number of their juniors in their senior side. From last years senior grandfinal side Yarra had at least 7 players from their juniors (not sure on Cooper and Lawless so not counting them). Of the others only Fev, Henderson and Lawless do not live...
Don't know where you pulled that from mate, if you don't play 1's you don't get match payments at Yarra. All you get is your footy jumper at year end, all registrations fees and uniforms paid for.
They even have 3 ex locals travel from Melbourne to play in the 2's each week for no $$. And...
There were 5 members of the Yarra 2's 2011 flag that got their chance and played in the 2012 seniors premiership. There were 10+ others that played in the 2's flag in 2012 that also had a crack at senior level at some stage during the year. Spots definately are hot, but they are also up for...
Not sure about your comment it is going backwards (due to dominance presumably).
Last year Rovers were 2 points from a grandfinal, the year before Lavi was a couple of points from a grandfinal. Although they didn't get close, with the line up the Raiders had last year they should have.
That's 4...
Yes mate same one. Luke is a Yarra local who go picked up by Brisbane in the 2000 draft (I think). Didn't play a senior game but was an emergency on a few occasions (tough team to break into back then). He's been playing in Bendigo for the last few years and just moved back to Yarra.
The charge was 'inciting a melee'. What an absolute joke, how can they even be sent off for this let alone reported. If they send off and report everytime there was a wrestle there would be reports laid in every game, every week.
Bourkey would it be possible to get a comparison of estimated crowd numbers after 4 rounds for this year to last year. Does the Border still print estimated crowd numbers? They would have to have been a large increase, with the gap getting greater with big bad bazza on board with the Hawks...
Tips for round 3
Roos by 3 pts over Myrt - Game of the round for mine, reckon it will be a cracker. Corowa are a much better side at home, and I think Myrt while being very impressive last weekmight struggle to repeat this 2 weeks in a row. I could be proved very wrong with this tip though...
Very quiet on here for what in my opinion looks to be the most even competition in years. Albury still ahead for mine but far more challengers than the previous years.
Whats everyones tips for the opening round???
Wodonga 25pts
Raiders 36pts
Albury 21pts
Yarra 9 pts
Myrtleford 3pts...
Thought I might get some bites out of that one.
Anyway back to footy. Should be cracking year coming up. By the look of peoples predictions its very hard to split the top 4. About the only thing there seems to be a consensus on is the recruitment of Fev not working out. I'll be the first...
The young Gorman boys have been going well for Yarra from all reports. Big step up from Picola but they have not looked out of their depth, both likely to start in seniors come round 1.
Pigeons play Echuca on Sat, they have apparently lost a heap from last years side so not sure how good they...

Why the angst at Yarra mate? As the tigers prez said in the paper, they have nothing against the two teams, they're just concerned with the league administrators.
I think the statement was right the first time mate. Don't think anyone else in the O&M could make as big of impact in the afl right now as what Fev could.
Are you the treasurer of the footy club mate? And why would Yarra give Mul anything, he hasn't been cleared so he doesn't need to be released before he plays for Yarra. As touched on before I can't see Mul going to the courts over this.
Injuries have been catching up with him the last fews years, with it starting to take a toll on his body. He played in a lot of pain and with injuries that not many outside the club know about.
He may well only have a couple of years left so he has to look after himself. He's also great...
I can't speak for the Tigers but I play for yarra 2's. Except for maybe 3 or 4 senior fringe players no one else got paid anything. We played together because we're all mates and are having a great time. The footy club look after us by paying our registrations, for our uniforms and we get to...
