Hi all, Yes I finally show face on here after a long period of absence, in the ultimate week of BFNL footy this year.
Good luck to all teams on the weekend, especially my mob from Tannery Lane. It is pleasing to see that the a club that was born from nothing 7 yeas ago, having all of their...
Time to close the annals of history in season 2014 and start the new thread for season 2015. 2 rounds in and there already appears to be a large gap between teams 4 to 10 to the top 3.
Time to do the annual end of year predictions on:
Premiers
Michelsen
Ron Best
Wooden Spoon
For me its
Strath...
Seasons greetings all..... Decisions decisions !!! Storm v Square or North Bgo v Colbo with the Barnes v Weeks show stopping in Bendigo for one day only....suggestions ???
Grasskicker, you're correct in saying it was the shepparding player and not the kicker. The point I was trying to make that the ball had been kicked several seconds before the incident occurred, but you are correct in picking up in my discrepancy in the previous post.
It's a fair call Roota. Does seem a bit ironic that I don't follow the LVFL too much yet I was at the game, in front of the incident and HAVE seen the X-rays all in the space of 12hrs. Won't reveal sources but can vouch that I have seen them....
I don't usually watch too much LVFL footy action, but happened to be at this particular match and happened to be watching directly in front of the said incident. What I can say for certainty is that the ball had been released by the BL Serp player seconds before the said Bridgey player came...
Great display by your boys in the first half Dragon, particularly half way through the 2nd quarter when it all look like one way traffic by the Storm, only to your mob to rally late and gain momentum at the half time siren. Fantastic effort by both Martin and Stagg to get up after what many...
Senior GF teams- Strathfieldsaye v Sandhurst as reported on Addy website. Looks like Sandhurst are giving Martin EPC (every possible chance) and haven't discounted him yet...
bold I/C players are my predictions on who will get the nod for both sides...
BENDIGO FOOTBALL LEAGUE
Seniors -...
Looking forward to the Seniors on Saturday Dragon Fly. No doubt if the weather is kind (in which I believe it will be), it should be a great tussle between the two best teams in the comp this season. Any late news re: Martin, ? Surely he won't come up. Even Hudini couldn't perform miracles like...
Can tell you all now with good authority that all Gold players have remained committed to play out the season with the Gold. AFL Vic will be enforcing player contracts as they stand if any player wished to break contract.
Was at Harry Trott yesterday for the B-52 v Oxens legend game. Great crowd in attendance who witnessed some of the greats of Bendigo footy, including one D. Filo who showed he has still got it. Mounts may look to Dekka next week after their ordinary performance against North. Overall a great...
CG, called Benny Weightman's talents a few weeks back when I saw him star at Wade St against the Square. Watched the last half of the Flat v Kyneton game and again his talent shone through. Also thought the umpiring of Messr Goodridge & Brodie were inconsistent at times - which probably makes...
Have heard on the 'Vine that Square are looking "west" to one of their stars from last years GF to head back for the latter half of the season.
Has anyone else heard any last minute recruiting activity prior to the 30 June deadline ?????
Not sure about Strath and Flat being traditional rivals. Maybe they're playing for the Wilson cup perhaps ???
Anyway my predictions are as follows:
Strath by 15 goals
Maryborough by 3 goals over South
Kyneton to chalk up win no 3 against the Maine by 5 goals
Sandhurst in a tight one over the...
No Joel didn't appear to be running around during the brief stint that I watched at Atkins St.
On a positive note for the Sainters, I watched the VFL match between Coburg v Northern Blues in which former Heathcote player Lech Featherstone was named BOG with his 3 goals, 18 kicks 6 telling...
Watch a bit of the Nth Bgo v Heffcote match at Atkins St today, and must say that there is a bigger gap in the HDFL this season than I originally thought. Nth spanking the Saints by over 100 points. Top 5 is already locked away IMO with LBU, LG, Mounts, Nth and Huntly to make top 5 with White...
Was at Wade St myself, and I also think that Kyneton are the real deal. Massive win for the club and vindicates the decision by the committee to maybe take the year off in the ones and start from scratch. Immense pressure applied to the Square for the whole 4 quarters. Lock Weightmann in for a...
Full credit to Sandhurst today Dragonfly. Your boys were very impressive and made great first use of the ball, whereas the Storm boys over possessed and provided far too many turnovers by kicking it long and into no one in particular. The Strath brains trust will definitely need to re-think...
Jane is still no 1 on WIN News, but there is a new challenger on the horizon in WIN news Sunraysia reporter Allyson Fonseca. Could it be that Jane's Bunns are about to be deflated by Sunny Fonseca ???
According to website url metrics, Central Vic Footy has an estimated worth of $2k, maybe Chalkie has sold out.....

Ok, with the opening round of season 2014 done and dusted, I thought it was time to stop reflecting on Season 2013 and create the Season 2014 BFNL thread...
To kick off the thread, I have created a poll on this year's flag favourites. No prizes for guessing my vote !
Congratulations to the Golden Square footy club on winning their 5th consecutive flag - phenominal effort. Grand final was a great game of football and was still anyone's game at the 15min mark of the final term. Square's GF experience came to the fore in the dying stages locking down and...
