Sicily was our full forward before he did his knee. We know he can play there.
I think we are all caught into thinking about the specific positions and roles. Sam is not building a team with players just in specific positions. He's building the most unpredictable team ever, potentially in AFL...
Not sure if that his official account but either way I think this is good thing more for the Hawks. Port doesn't need anymore motivation after what happened to them. But it will ensure our boys are on edge and ready for a fired up Port. There will be no room for complacency.
Hey everyone,
I have been absent for a few years. Not that any of you would remember me but kind of reintroducing myself.
I've read through every post so far and everyone's focus is one of the three main topics:
1. Who comes in or goes out
2. Weather
3. And one and two combined.
Let me tell...
I love Hawthorn and the Sam Mitchell but you have made it seem like I have something against both.
I stayed away from this site for the last few years because this is what always happens. You can see that from my profile picture and username which are no longer relevant.
Some of you regulars...
So, as the captain he was not regarded as a leader (that's what an on-field coach is in case you think it's actually like an assistant coach role) but when he wasn't the captain he was a leader. Makes a lot of sense.
Mate, I know we are die hard Hawks fans and one eyed supporters but Sam has coached one full season. That's what I'm referring to. If you were a player and you were approached by Hardwick, Scott and Mitchell, who do you think will require more consideration? You are talking about two of the best...
Sam is a new and untried senior coach. I think players choosing us over Richmond, Geelong and the like is going to be very rare if at all possible. Our only option for now is the draft. We need as many picks as possible.
I think they are raising the prospect that they will not pay through the nose for Grundy and have a backup. It's a negotiation ploy I think more than the kid being good. If he was he would have played given the struggling forward line.
I'm sorry Kozi if you read this but I am very doubtful he can make it. I have a feeling Serong will surpass him. Honestly, I don't think we've bottomed out and feel we will drop further next season. But I don't think we should be concerned. Keep picking up kids and keep trying them. Three more...
With Hopper and Taranto requiring so many first rounders maybe there's an opportunity for Hawthorn to engage with other clubs to trade for draft picks to set itself up strongly for next year's draft.
