Yeh i think it may be time to sit Adam Ashley-Cooper out for Berrick Barnes. Take him out of the Australian backline, and the likes of Quade Copper, Genia, Giteau, Mitchell and Beale look very promising.
I hope the Wallabies keep the ball in hand again tonight. This tactic is the best hope...
Best age of your life
With plenty of years of hindsight....When do you think was the best years of your life??? Late 20's??? Early 30's?? Late 40's???
Odd question...but gives a bit of perspective...
After another Anzac day, began to think about what Australia's proudest achievement has been. Am not the greatest fan of Gallipolli, and see Australia's battles in the Pacific as more a significant moment, but each is a matter of opinion.
Personally I think that the Medicare system we have is...
Am very concerned about a few of my mates. The lot of them left school early to get unskilled jobs with little or no job protection. Will be tough watching them struggle when this recession really begins to hit home.
Have just recently been dropped by two job agencies due to no work available whatsoever. Am lucky to still have a secure part-time job and be studying full-time.
Best of luck in the future to anyone who has been unfortunate to have been let go from their job this year.
He does your basic agency labouring job. I think she's more trying to pressure him into getting a better job, since my mate's pretty content working where he is.
Either way I was pretty sure that 20K was way over the top.
This question comes out of left field, but how much should you spend on an engagement ring???
Am pretty well set, but my mate is really stressing over this considering he makes $35,000 a year and his missus is expecting a ring of at least $20,000..
What's everyone's experience on this...
The curtains appear to have closed upon these blokes for a good few decades...Overheard a few Melb Uni kids on the train talking up how they're new Investment banking job is gonna pay them $100,000 a year first year out....Good Luck fellas, your jobs at Macquarie Bank will be gone by the end of...
Saw something on TV tonight about a bloke who worked as the director of an art gallery in Japan who lossed his job. This poor fella lossed his house, went bankrupt, his wife and kids left him and was living in a tiny room of building. Six-months later he was cleaning apartments for minimum wage...
I just can't see unemployment in the US hitting anywhere near depression levels of 25%. Even reaching 10% from its current rate seems enormous.
If the US hits 15% unemployment, in this day and age you would call it a depression.
My guess is this will be the big, long one and am guessing that it will last several years. Japan and possibly a few other larger countries will fall into depression (Possibly Germany and the UK).
In Australia the the Recession has not come close to hitting home, but my guess is that we won't...
Lost two classmates in the same week when I was 16 (both in seperate incidents). Have lost contact with almost all classmates since leaving high school, so could possibly be more.
Safeway are massive tightarses. I know for a fact that they're too scungy to give chocolates to their employees at Xmas.
Don't know why people don't want to get on board and shop at Coles. Is just for one day and will end up resulting in more than $5 million + going to some people who have...
Stiff on Uni Students??? The world owes Uni Students nothing. Everyone is already sick to death of their 'poor me' rants. The majority put in bugger all and whine the most for handouts. As one former PM once said 'Go and get a job'. If it doesn't give enough hours then get another :D:D:D My two...
Yeh that definately pushed me to quit. At that stage I already have a job and just applied for a bit of extra cash. A lot of overseas students applied for the job as well, but since I left so early did not know how successful they were.
What's the least that you've lived off in a given week. Few years back lost my Keycard and had to live off scraps for a fortnight. Had a $50 in my wallet the day I began, and a fortnight later was left with about $3.50. Never again I hope.
Is a tough gig. Know a few mates who have tried for years to land a decent gig, but have found themselves reporting for places out in the sticks. All of these blokes have since moved into teaching, law etc. Is a tough career, but best of luck young fella.
Did a few days working in a call centre for a charity. Cold calling across Australia. Quit after a few days. Really hope I never have to work there again. :thumbsd:
Hehe cheers mate. As a student I already have a part-time retail job, just used to rely on the agency jobs for extra work throughout the year.
But yeh, have applied for a few so will hear back from them soon.....
How has the Recession affected you personally so far?
For me I've found that the Recruitment Agencies no longer have the same amount of work coming in, leaving me sitting idle waiting for jobs.
Saw the Melb BDO and gotta say that the average age there would've been less than 16
From what I saw:
Children Collide - Weren't too bad and will get better with time
Birds of Tokyo - My mates really got into these guys, whereas I found them pretty average
Little Red - Thought these...
Such a annoying bunch. Scream for handouts rather than having to earn to put a roof over their heads. But at the end of the day we better get used to supporting these bums since they will more than likely spend the rest of their years on fortnightly Centrelink payments.
Oh Kevin, why did you...
Spoke to my father who remembers the situation fairly well. Being from Victoria where Kennett took the blade to the public service, my dad remembers things being 'pretty dire'. Lots of families, especially people we knew were torn apart as a result of the recession.
I think a lot of Gen Y are...
