I think having knights up and firing would give our team so much...
IMO to keep these players we need to have a good year. We make top 4 and they stay, we don't make finals I'd say at least one if not two go, and if we finish 5-8 who the feck knows
I think no club actually knows who they want because they don't know who will be on the table. So they are just getting their preferences straight and waiting to see who is there at their pick. And I hope we are doing the same and not just set in stone on Ellis.
It was a stress fracture wasn't it? On his foot? Pretty sure I have one right now and a lot of my friends have had them. They suck and you have to be careful then after not to overwork your feet. The only real remedy is rest as well. But if he deals with it well and waits till it's fully healed...
Fair enough. I'm not really that informed just going from what I've seen and read on the internet, but Ellis just seems like an average type, not really a hard inside or a flashy outside player. Is he just gonna end up being a jack of all master of none?
But no body above us rates Ellis, and people after us still for a while. And the likes of weller and laverde are rated by many clubs above us they've just got some other players they want more.
So why are we taking the kid nobody rates?
I don't understand how we are so linked to a player that no one around our pick rates at all really. I can't fathom that we are gonna grab a guy supposed to go around 15-20 when we have a chance to snag a player sliding from the top 10?
I'm sure Ellis is a good player but we have a chance to...
IMO we need more genuine midfield depth, and as good as some of these KPP's are, I would really like us to take a mid at pick 12 whether it be an inside or outside player because let's face it, we need both.
I just want the suspense to be over! Everyone keeps changing their mind on who they want, gws are in such a good but stressful situation. I'd have no idea who to choose having three selections
Yeah definitely what they meant. And I think the coaching staff are super intelligent and have organised the game plan so that we can run out games as a team. Eg resting the stars more forward and on the bench. And having the players with big tanks being more involved towards the end of games
Yes but some taggers go to lids and stuff like Crowley and some teams don't have quality taggers. But when he cops a hard tag he struggles to really break it. But I love Trent and think he's a ripper player. To still find the footy with those tags and not the best tank is credit to him. My one...
What I don't understand is we said we want inside grunt first and pass second. Isn't Duggan neither of them?
I've definitely come around on Duggan and would love us to get him, but he's not an inside mid and he's not quick. So neither of the things we stated we wanted?
That's what I thought too. But this was coming from some of the top dogs at the club. I'm not too worried about it though as long as we don't bring in other players with no tanks as well otherwise too much of the team will be like that. It explains why cotchin can't break tags
Heard from a source that the club thinks we are way behind other teams eg. Port Adelaide, because our good players have no tanks. Apparently Cochin and Martin just have no tanks at all and can't run out games and teams like port are gonna just run all over us next year.
We need to bring in...
Yeah good points. I would say that most players you pick up are going are going to take time to develop anyway though. You aren't drafting expecting these kids to constantly impact games the following year, that's what trades and FA is for. You draft for the future. And I would take the player I...
How much does everyone think Lennon will improve next season? Will he cement a spot in the forward line? Kick 20-30 goals for the season? Or keep improving slowly in the 2's?
Yep after reading that I say the hell with everyone else. How passionate would he be playing for the team he's supported all his life. He's got the skills, the work ethic, the supportive footy family, and a yellow and black heart. Snap him up if he's still there
Think Madonna has great skills, wouldn't put him at the top of the club for any of them but definitely good, but I haven't seen anything at AFL level yet that I can say that I'm confident he can cement a spot this year.
And I am a big fan of his, loved when we drafted him. But to me it seems...
Yeah I would not be upset with either. I would love to have Duggan on our list. I just think there will be slightly more talented prospects still there at 12 that I would rather personally
Exactly, IMO he is a lot closer to fulfilling his potential already, and will probably have a quicker impact at afl level. But if he's already closer to reaching is full potential then that would mean his ceiling isn't as high.
I would rate de goey around the same as Duggan right now but maybe...
I agree he will be a very good player for us or whoever picks him up. But do you think he will be a genuine A grader?
This is a strong draft, it seems like there could be some genuine stars in there. Do you think his ceiling is as high as some other players?
Say both Duggan and de goey both...
