News Hawthorn and Skechers sign on for 2023 and beyond

One thing I would criticise Sketchers for, is not making guernseys long enough for the leaner player's torso's. I hate seeing Calsher constantly pulling his jumper down as it rides up above his shirt. He shouldn't have to worry about stuff like that on field.

I recon you could almost get away with it of you swapped blue for white or a different shade of brown or gold. Though then you'd lose the Hawaiian shirt gaudiness, so it's a waste of time.

I think we all know the real answer is Adrian Cox!

You would think they'll play it similarly to what we did with Weddle, if there's someone too good to pass then go for it.

Oppo Camp 2024 Finals Discussion (other games)

The other code is still playing finals, so I thought maybe it was worth posting in here. A mate of mine is a Penrith supporter, so I watched the NRL prelims this weekend. Melbourne sold out their game, but the two Sydney teams couldn't even get 60% stadium capacity. WTF?!?! to a prelim! Maybe...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

Ariarne Titmus would be proud. Did you know she attends Hawthorn games?!

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn - Mabior Chol

I didn't think he was wrong. Chol has been brilliant for us this year and stood up where we needed, but the kind of football played in finals needs big men who can compete in the air like maniacs. It's a part of his game that could definitely be improved. I hope he can do so.

Opinion Did Hawthorn just expose a mental fragility?

As a Hawthorn supporter, IMO, this is the correct take. This year was a free hit and a huge development year. Mitchell gave the players freedom to get out there and enjoy their football. The club has intentionally engaged with its supporter base, and we've loved every moment of it. The team...

Autopsy Hawthorn pipped at the post by Port Adelaide

Yep, KH acted like a child, not a 60YO coach of over a decade. Some people are pointing at Clarko's poor conduct at times, as if that somehow absolves Ken, but it doesn't. Coaches have to be better than that.

Autopsy Hawthorn pipped at the post by Port Adelaide

The team made a lot of mistakes throughout the game. They didn't release the handball early enough on several occasions, which cost shots on goal. They didn't hit up short leads running through the centre square. For whatever reason, the players lost their cool under pressure. Put this one...

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Jack Ginnivan!

Change of topic... I'd like to see Ginni spend his summer working on acceleration and top speed. IMO It's probably the weakest point of his game. He gets around it with creativity and smarts, but opposition doesn't fear his ability to break away from congestion or run down tackle like Watson...

Autopsy Hawthorn pipped at the post by Port Adelaide

It did matter, but the dude above is OTT. I agree with you and disagree with him just because he's being righteous and implying absolutes as opposed to opinion. How much % difference did it make? Nobody knows, but the little things matter when you're pushing for premierships. The leadership...

I was discussing this whole Ginni saga with my old man today. I think this will be an awakening of sorts for Ginni. He's seen that these things, while seemingly innocuous in isolation, have ramifications to others outside the media beat up. He's a good kid who's managed to get away with being a...

Feels horrid, so sad for the story of 2024 to come to an end. Fitting that it was so close, we've had our collective butts clenched for 20 weeks now. Immensely proud of the club, keep working hard and getting better lads.

Game Day 2024 Semi Final : Port v Hawks, AO 7:10pm

I'm hoping Port have spent a lot of petrol tickets with the high pressure play for 50 minutes. Looked like it was slacking from half way through the second. Shame we conceded the old Red timer.

Welcome Welcome to Hawthorn : Nick 'the Wizard' Watson! Rising star Nom!

We need more of this. Aussie rules fans have historically been a disorganized bunch compared with games like soccer (partly due to ticketing system's ad-hoc nature). I'd love to see more of a trend towards groups and collective chants. When Ginni heads towards the cheer squad and gives them a...

Autopsy 2024 Second elimination final : Hawks roll the dogs

He did have a frustrating night, but anyone getting into him should reflect on how good he's been for us this year. Can't understand how you could lose perspective on this so quickly. There may be a technique thing he can work on with his hands in the slippery conditions. Get out the grippo...

Hey one thing I forgot that I thjnk needs to be mentioned. The crowd getting behind Chol and revving him up when he wasn't having a great night was wonderful. I hope the fella took it the right way, because I don't think it was a Bronx cheer. Love the bloke, he struggled to get up to full...
