Ratugolea and Sicily being out has pushed me down to 17 this week. What are the chances of McAndrew staying in for the swans next week? It's him or Briggs this week. I'd hoped for the extra cash, but Sicily being out has changed things.
It feels like the Crows have just smashed one after another terrible calls over the last few days. DMac re-signing, Burton and Haas stay, Murphy dropped, Keath hamstring, replaced by Otten. It's too much, even for the Crows.
I agree he is entirely average, but I disagree that his average is better than half the team. His average is always going to be in the bottom half of our players. Usually closer to the bottom. And there are games, usually high pressure, close games like against Port, Freo and GWS, where he goes...
Jacobs - O'Brien
CEY - Wilson
Mackay - Hampton
Atkins - Galluci
Brown (injured) - Cheney
God. Is there player who has been maligned for more of his 200 games than Mackay?
There needs to be a good clean-out that's for sure. Honestly I will be disappointed if any of the assistant coaches besides Francou is back next year. That won't happen, Clarkes AFLW appointment guarantees he will be back.
Hartigan - Otten
Milera - Mackay
Knight - Polholke
I have a feeling none will be ready to go and nothing on earth will make the Crows keep Mackay out for more than token SANFL time, but DEAR GOD do the first two need to go.
He provides more versatility as well, being able to play on smalls and talls (or tall-ish). Balances the defence better, especially against a side like Richmond. And he is not a liability in the one-on-ones like Lever.
One of the things that impresses me the most about him is that when things are going badly and everyone is doing it tough, Matt Crouch will be the one standing up. We saw it last year against Port and WCE in the final two rounds, in the final against Sydney, and we saw it again today. You can...
Most competitors don't know when to stop.
Joe Frazier was nearly blind after round 14 of the Thrilla in Manilla and he still wanted to fight Ali. But his trainer did the right thing to protect him.
Muhammad Ali was well past it when he fought Larry Holmes and it was one of the worst nights...
Beech - Lynch (if fit)
Hartigan - Doedee
MacKay - Cameron
I really doubt that they will drop MacKay, because they will look at his stat line rather than his actual impact on the game.
He wasn't Sloane, but he was significantly better. He was clean and he broke some lines and he made some stuff happen. I was never expecting him to be elite, but 8 rounds of very little-to-nothing is surprising.
Greenwood has outplayed him in all 3 SANFL games so far. Handily in round 2, but closer in 1 and 3. So, maybe "much" didn't need to be added, but I stand by Greenwood as the better option.
I think the same thing, but I don't for the life of me get it. Don't get me wrong, Beech is a fine player. But Greenwood has so much more upside and his form has been much better than Beech's this year. I don't see any reason Beech should get picked over Greenwood.
Clearly Rat is inspired by Dennis Rodman. First he gets the hair, then he gets the championships, then he brings peace to North Korea. If it's still there by then.
