How many games will Mackay play in 2019 (excluding injuries)?

Good signing. He's an AFL-caliber player, without being a star, and he's 30 now. One year is probably right. If he's been forced out the side by then, then he'll be moved on. If not, then he'll stick around. If nothing else he's very handy depth, given our various wingers and half backs keep getting injured.

We needed someone with a force of character and personality to stand up to the AFC culture, status quo and boys club. Pyke has shown he's not that man and has fallen into line beautifully. Do you reckon Clarkson would have settled for Burton and Haas?

I have no idea what Clarkson would have done re Burton and Haas, but I doubt he would sack Douglas as you seem to be suggesting. Douglas has been one of our better players this year.

Edit: Oh, it was someone else suggesting that, my bad.

1 year is good. It suggests the club knows his time is nearly up.

It's a feel sorry contract. He'd have wanted at least 2 but there's nobody in the marketplace vaguely interested in what he brings to the field on gameday. We couldn't delist a bloke a few weeks after celebrating him as a worthy 200 game player. Typical us.

Summed it up pretty much for me also. I also think people are now just in the habit of hating Mackay.

He'll never get dropped because his current output is considered good enough to be selected each week

He couldn't possibly play any worse so we're stuck with him in the 22
He won’t get dropped because that will mean a new login name.....

I honestly thought we'd give him his 200 games and then send him on his way. I was wrong. This spells the end for Cheney and Otten, me thinks.

The most damning thing about DMac is even the coaches implicitly know he sucks. If he was in any way as good as the likes of Campo says he is then you'd think he'd get a load of BnF votes where role players are rewarded but he doesn't. It makes no sense. They're probably not even self aware of it either.

Given Campo's unashamed love for the guy, it's not beyond believable that he overates his performances and gives him more votes than he deserves.
