1 - Agreed.
2 - Agreed.
3 - Cheney is better than Kelly, at least sends a message. In long term, as in next year - McPherson could replace both of them. Still, show that performance is the key. Not continuity. Cheney lost his spot through inj anyway. Kelly been crap lately.

3 - McPherson and Francis replaces both of them

Cheney delisted or given one last year in the sanfl as very last emergency depth.. Kelly trade bait to help get Francis

Jacobs - O'Brien
CEY - Wilson
Mackay - Hampton
Atkins - Galluci
Brown (injured) - Cheney

there should be a lot more changes than there will be. but continuity, structures, blah blah blah.

mackay's 200th will be a hell of a spectacle.

God. Is there player who has been maligned for more of his 200 games than Mackay?

The only changes that would help us are bringing in:

laird
lynch
smith
McGovern
knight
Sloane
crouch
brown.

The years been completely shot by injuries, with the domino effect of the rest of the list being so fatigued that they’re fumbly and can’t execute their skills to their usual level. See M.Crouch as exhibit A.

Season’s over, blame the fitness staff

Actually... given who’s currently in charge at the club.. we’d probably even **** up tanking...

CEY - Wilson
Mackay - Hampton
Atkins - Galluci
Brown (injured) - Cheney

Changes need to be exactly this.

Atkins, CEY, Mackay MUST GO. No quesiton about it. They were absolutely putrid and have been for a while now. No more.

- Jacobs also needs to go, but I can't see them dropping him, ever. I mean for **** sake, we didn't even rest the guy when he was playing injured, and brought him back early from injury against Brisbane or Gold Coast I think it was, absolutely unbelievable! Poor ROB.
- Kelly needs to go also. Completely shot of any confidence and almost looks like he doesn't give a **** to be completely honest. The Brown injury makes it hard however, but even a Kyle 'break glass in case of emergency' Cheney is looking better right now.
- Gibson's disposal is absolutely disgusting. To think that there are people who wanted to play this bloke off the half back flank in place of Smithers. You are ****ing KIDDING YOURSELVES. Made up for his shit disposal by running his ass off this week, something no one else seemed to do.

As much as I want to get games into him, Fogarty just looks lost also. Idk if he's not fit enough, or if it's the way the forward line is operating. Hate to say it but he's a big liability playing the way he is at the moment :( A tough call may need to be made soon.

Don't make it obvious. This is actually a pretty fair post (from a Melbourne supporter nonetheless)

Tanking is never a good idea but Richmond's 2016 might be a model worth following.

Played some kids, try some new things, lose a fair bit but have some mixed results along the way, get in to a nice part of the fixture and draft. Work out who's staying, who's going and who you need to bring in. Review the coaches and footy department.

Of course it's a bit earlier for too much tinkering. 8-7 or even 7-8 is still alive, 6-9 is a different prospect.
This is exactly what we should be doing but I don't see it happening. That said, we can also hide the tanking but just making no unforced changes for the rest of the season.

CEY out. Or he stays if MCrouch is injured; surely Matt wouldn’t play a game with so little energy if he was fully fit. Either way we can’t have all three of MCrouch, Greenwood and CEY in the same midfield.

Gallucci in. Adds some energy and pace to the midfield.

If Luke Brown goes out with injury, then Laird probably comes in to replace him.

Up forward Ben Davis is going to get a game at some point. Not sure this week is the week - he needs more continuity first...

Looks like the selectors see no future for any of Dear, Himmelberg, Otten, O’Brien, Cheney, Hampton at the club. I can’t see us shuffling the deck chairs for the sake of it. We are playing most of the kids we want to already.

Enjoying the development from Fogarty, Poholke, Doedee, Milera, Gallucci, Murphy. Some of those guys will go onto become very good footballers.

Continuity of your best 10-15 players in terms of getting them on the friggin park for more than 2 games is actually a thing now. It is now being used correctly.

Unless Mackay is in the same convo. Sauce as well.

Did we get any new injuries today?

Brown did his ankle.

If you were going to move through the lines you would be looking at dropping the following:
Kelly - way down on form and Cheney is a good replacement
CEY - not doing enough apart from his inside bull work, no good replacements as Signorello not up to it
Greenwood - not doing enough, no good replacements, could be dropped for Hampton
Gibson - apparently second best today but was very meh, Welson or Edwards
Fogarty - not doing enough, replace with Davis.
Sauce - terrible, 8 touches today, 8!! Bring in Dear or Berg and have Jenkins ruck more
Murphy - not enough bring in Gallucci or Jarman.

Then reality, we piss around the edges, the core won't be dropped.

How is Signorello not up to it compared to the likes of Jarman, Dear, Himmelberg or Edwards? His recent SANFL form is better than all of those guys
