I agree with the premise of what he is saying - obviously, I want everyone to stay and build the team from the ground up.
But Murphy's contribution comes from a position of pure VFL privilege. He isn't really acknowledging all the benefits that go with being a Victorian-based AFL footballer...
What is the real reason they prefer not to move interstate?
The limelight, TV exposure, to be a 'legend' amongst their school mates, have a free run with the ladies...I mean as an 18 year old, sure these things obviously seem really important.
What they fail to recognise is the positives of...
Yeah, he's not an 800k player - no doubt.
But I still think he adds a lot to the side.
I'm sure his next contract will reflect his on field value... well you would hope so.
Thanks Bob Murphy who is on Melbourne Radio, has his own fox footy show
All thanks to being a publicised, well recognised player who played at a Victorian club.
Cerra looking to leave Fremantle to head to Victoria.
Can we / should we get involved with our pick 3 in some capacity??
Cerra + GC pick 22 > Richmond
GC Pick 3 + Rich pick 28 > Freo
Rich Pick 7, CCJ + Freo future 2nd > GC
I don't really rate this Weller is terrible narrative that has emerged more recently.
7th in our B+F last year.
Is a lovely kick, looks to move the ball forward and play attacking football.
Leg speed, which we generally lack.
Should play half forward when he comes back IMO.
Would have...
Parker - Fiorini - Rowell - Greenwood all relatively one paced..
I do think Parker seems like the kind of guy that falls off a cliff pretty quickly...
Still, from my perspective if we can get a star player like Parker into our system, you pull that trigger immediately.
Gives 100%
Kicks goals...
Went well
King kicked 47 goals - second best goal record in suns history
Miller became a top flight midfielder
won 5 games at interstate venues
A few youngsters started to find their groove : Powell, Anderson, sharp, lukosius, king in particular.
Elijah got through and seems set for a big...
Yeah wasn't saying Docherty and Cunningham had injuries before you recruited them.
More making a point in that you already had injury prone players on the list (Kreuzer, Cuningham, Docherty) and then went and recruited more injury prone players (Martin, Williams, Marchbank etc..)
So not...
Maybe don’t recruit players who are injury prone.
who would have predicted that Williams, Martin, Newman, marchbank, Kemp would miss games…
especially when Krueger, docherty, Curnow, Cunningham etc.. were already on the list.
Both Jirik13 and I believe better to learn with some experience around than a bunch of youngsters thrown together. Wonder whether we’ve learnt something as suns fans over the years.
Adelaide conceded second most points this year.
listed back 6 this week has 5 players with 50 or fewer games...
Be interested to see Davies.
Looks like he throws himself at the contest but often off his feet and a bit scattered with the ball.
Didn’t really think he was ready but let him prove me wrong!
Hm.. interesting to see how it all plays out.
Could be a few one way trades that might help us shed numbers - ie Brodie for a future 3rd rounder (probably as good as we could expect)
I reckon Murtagh has more than only athleticism.
Can clunk a mark and I actually think he is quite a nice...
Suns?
Can start the season in the 1's whilst Wittsy still rehabbing from his ACL.
Who know's how long it'll take and in what capacity Witts comes back from his injury
Zac Smith just retired
Ned Moyle is only 19.
No other ruckman on the list.
Could be a decent bridge between Witts and Moyle and...
Appreciate your input.
From what I've seen Nicholls is actually quite athletic. Seems like a similar body type to Wil Powell.
Lacks composure though. Makes a lot of mistakes for a half backer.
Not sure if he has the capacity to play anywhere else either.
I also reckon Murtagh has shown lots...
That is the point
Plenty of older players have missed a year of football through injury - most of them just don't ever come back. Sometimes they come back for a handful of games - Very rare for a 30 year old to miss a year of football and come back and play well afterwards.
