His kicking tonight was absurd. I had the earpiece in and they talked about all night on the radio. He was kicking absolute ****ing bullets, threading needles from 50m away. Amazing.
What’s happened to the kicking? Is (was) the most, beautiful, pure, dead straight kick at goal we had. Looks horribly out of sorts now - that shot in the last he couldn’t get distance or accuracy.
So clearly nothing came of this.
It seems this could be a case of police having a very good idea of who did it, but not having evidence to charge.
The podcast mentioned a man who was present at the rapes but did not take part. He is perhaps the only hope as an eyewitness.
Did my ladder predictor (incl a Coll win this week)
Sydney 84
Carlton 68
Collingwood 64
Geelong 60
Brisbane 58
Freo 58
Essendon 54
GWS 52
That’d be 13.5 wins for us which is a huge season, would be very happy.
Would need four more wins, our best chances are
Adelaide (Marvel)
St Kilda...
Merrett is a long way off but a chance based on the fact he barely ever misses games.
He’s 28 and has played 221 games.
Wants to play til he’s 38, you don’t get a say in getting injured however! He is very driven and prepares very well so will be some chance. He’s also the right profile, key...
It was relevant in the old days when clubs represented specific suburbs or areas.
They don’t any more - all nine clubs play in the CBD so there is no reason for a newcomer to footy to follow one over the other.
Carlton definitely captured many Italian migrants when they arrived, purely because...
Worst I’ve seen was at a local game about 20 years ago on one of the old glue pot ovals that were just mud. Thankfully almost all local ovals have vastly improved surfaces now.
Guy went down and was screaming and I even saw a couple of other players look and then quickly turn away as they...
Hawthorn grew signficantly in the outer eastern suburbs in the 90s when they made a real point of embracing Waverley, whereas every other club (incl co-tenant St Kilda) didn’t want a bar of the place.
If you play on their doorstep and embrace it then people go. And the kids start to support...
It won’t suddenly grow their supporter base. It will take decades and decades.
People will eventually support a club that is playing on their doorstep.
They’ve always been small, not sure what the OP means when he says they used to be bigger.
They grow a bit in popularity when they’re going well as all clubs do, but then revert.
They have a very unsuccessful history which makes things hard.
St Kilda was a poor location as they had no natural...
Step 1: Distract the population with culture wars that you don’t actually care about.
This is why the right enlisted the media in western countries.
Step 2: Do your dirt, knowing it’ll never be reported on or noticed by enough voters because the media are protecting you.
Those two steps have...
It is the standard Southern should be, people used to say it was poor standard… take the best clubs out of any region and the standard is poor!
It was badly hemmed in by the SEFNL and MPFNL but appears to be over that now with south-east clubs finally accepting it’s the best place for them...
It’d be 3 of 12 in D1, so it’s still only 10th and downwards.
It actually just happened in Eastern, except they elected to go two relegations and no promotion instead.
Not a fan of that system, you can get a situation like Boronia who walked the league last year and are doing so again this...
No source - just what I’d do
I don’t believe clubs went into this season knowing that there would be more than one relegation and I don’t think it’s fair to do that unless everybody is told before the year. Might be wrong on that of course.
If so, that’s what I’d do - then everybody knows...
12/10/8/8 next year - two up from D2, plus Narre, and one down.
D2 loses an extra club to D1, but gains Berwick Springs - still 10 clubs.
10/10/10/8 following year - three relegations from D1 and D2
Think that is fairest, everybody gets plenty of notice of what is coming.
Narre into D1
Two promotions from D2 to D1
One relegation from D1 to D2
Berwick Springs into D2
Makes it 12/10/8/8
Then next year three relegations from D1 and D2
Makes it 10/10/10/8
So based on current ladder, next year in D1:
Bentleigh
Chelsea Heights
Cheltenham
Cranbourne
Dingley...
I think we are getting closer to state-based drafting and at some stage it might just be easier and fairer to go for that.
Somebody has to get NT, might as well be North.
Assuming they will play games there too.
Wonder what the plan is for Hawthorn, shouldn’t be forgotten they are also losing...
Colts actually have a big junior club, you’d hope they’re nurturing those players as well as bringing in the mercenaries. Ignore your own at your peril, they’ll go elsewhere and when the mercenaries inevitably depart, you’ll be in trouble.

Interesting. Seems like a straight swap for Tassie?
Apparently Geelong, Essendon, Hawthorn, Collingwood and Melbourne currently have pathways in the NT, and would be booted out. I’ll be honest, personally I have no idea what...
Unfortunately for the likes of 3AW (Nine), dominating the ratings (which they do) ain’t what it was 30 years ago - because a grand total of about 13 people in Melbourne listen to radio - and maybe 2 of them are under 55yo.
Part of the reason the media business is in the toilet (where some may...
