More than happy to have you on-board!
See you at the draft - which I'd love to have of an evening, but the NFL seems to think nobody outside the states plays fantasy, so it may have to be a Saturday morning job.
Will keep everyone advised in the "comments" section.
John
Welcome aboard (funny pic as well).
Have 4 slots available in our "draft" version as well - league No. 897784. Hoping to fill that over the weekend, with a view to draft being held 6:30pm, WST (Perth) / 9:30pm (Melbourne). Feel free to have a crack at it.
Have a 10 team league with 6 spots up for grabs. Draft is set to roll on 11th March at 6:30pm, WA time. Anyone interested, join league No. 897784. Also have a few slots left in normal league - 363619.
I've got a couple of decent scores in a row over the last 2 rounds and got rolled just about everywhere - 2,086 & 2,171. This week 2,337 and still lost one of my league games, but at least won 4 & easy win in Eliminator.
Was in KL on holidays and 20 minutes before start of game, had Deledio...
OK - I'm playing "FantasyFooty" this year and that is draft based and you can have a 40 man squad and flexibility in number of teams in each league. You can trade in and out of the "undrafted pool". So, it's a bit like DT Pro, except it doesn't cost you anything and you can have a bigger squad...
The whole concept of Fantasy Football is to put you into the coaches box. As such, it should be based along similar lines to coaching an AFL side.
The AFL doesn't have 16 teams all being captained by Dane Swan. Therefore you need to start with a player draft and a salary cap. This would...
"I'd go with Coad. They were talking him up at the beginning of the year as a mature age rookie, big body - ready to go, etc. With Browny out for a few weeks, his job security has to be improved. The 82 he scored last weekend is pretty handy...................... I think he will become a regular...
Probably not - but he's still going to get you scores in the 80's & 90's on a regular basis, with the odd ton thrown in. He will also have a few ordinary days when he might stink it up a bit with a 50 odd score. That seems to be the typical pattern for a power forward - Riewoldt, Goodes, Browny...
I'd go with Coad. They were talking him up at the beginning of the year as a mature age rookie, big body - ready to go, etc. With Browny out for a few weeks, his job security has to be improved. The 82 he scored last weekend is pretty handy (didn't see the game at all, in Perth, so not sure how...
Having a quick look, Dons is probably on the money, all be it a little blunt given you're new to the caper.
First thing I would "consider" is how keen are you to have Alan Didak in your team? He's missed most of the pre-season after having shoulder surgery and may take a little while to hit...
Unique as Yogibear put it, is one word that leaps to mind. With regards to your upgrade targets - in the immortal words of Dennis Cometti - "That's ambitious!"
I think there is a couple of players on that upgrade list, that you have to start with, or accept that you're betting on them having...
The big point I'm trying to make is that you have 3 players on your bench in the midfield, defence and forwards and only 2 in your rucks. You're also more likely to play your emergency cards across those 3 parts of the field and not your rucks. As such, pick 2 duds to sit on your rucks bench...
I agree with what you're saying, but I've adopted a similar set up to Ethan's, with my rucks. The thinking I used was to get one premium ($300K plus) a cheaper option ($200-280K) who looks like playing, my DPP ruckman (Petrie, Hale, Stanley, or Kurt Tippett) as my No. 3, with one of the others...
Looks pretty fair, to me.
Don't let my opinion make you change too much about your team. I'm no genius.
With regards to Rawlings, I would see how he goes during the NAB Cup - mostly for an idea about his role in the Roo's game plan. My concern would be that if he plays a similar role to last...
At a glance, not too bad. Would recommend you find a mid/bac for your mids, so you can chuck Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio and Heppell between the two, if need be. You have Krakouer & Smithy, giving you access to your fwd / mids - Chappy, Sylivia, Goodes & Callinan. Alternatively, drop out a...
Good to see you've changed your tune on Sam Jacobs! I wasn't going to say anything last week, but when you were singing his praises, I thought you were still getting your Jacobs mixed up!
Up to you - I guess it comes down to the available bucks and who you're happy to off-load.
I've ended up with 4 DPP's in the guts - 2 starting and 2 rookies on the bench - ie. a rookie def and a rookie fwd, plus a premium def and a premium forward. My reasoning being that I can swap more...
Not a lot wrong, as far as I would think.
Perhaps a DPP, mid/back, in the mids, to give you access to Goddard, Gibbs, Deledio & Heppell, if needed. Callinan allows you to go into the forwards, but don't see the link to defence.
Looks pretty good to me!
Not sure how much cash you have left?
My strategy is for a little more flexibility with the DPP's. I put Gibbs & Sylvia into my midfield, so that I have a premium and a rookie, going in & out of the midiflied, both forward and back. To do that, you would probably...
Think you'll hit a snag come round 6, down back. Bye - Geelong Hawthorn & Freo, which means no Bruce, Duffield, Suban & Puopolo. I don't believe any of those guys are DPP's, which means Gibbs & Heppell can't swap back and cover - no biggy if you're just playing for a league win. Perhaps swap...
I agree with your thinking. I've gone with Boyd, over Swannie & GAJ. I think with the captaincy down at the kennel and the bye in round 4, he's probably your man, come round 5. Then if GAJ has hit his straps and got both his byes out of the road, he's your round 10 / 11 target.
Jacobs & Lobbe are both injured. I'll make that clear for DonsStormLFC, that this is the Jacobs from Port Adelaide!
Bit thin for Captain options. Goddard, Chapman - yep. Past that, a bit of a gamble. The rule of thumb would be that you need one of Swannie, Ablett or Matt Boyd. Having said...
