I disagree about Belichick made Brady. I think Brady made Belichick. Belichick is a great coach, but it was Brady who lifted that organization to win. The Tuck Rule was him. The playoffs. The Super Bowl. And the other Super Bowl wins. Far more Brady than Belichick. Belichick has done very little without Brady. And Brady did it all without any receivers, which further highlights it was Brady who made Belichick (unlike the receiving corp Peyton Manning has always had).

The defence might have had just a wee liddle bit to do with their championships.

Agree. And that's Belichick. Was pointing more to the offense, that Brady made Belichick than the other way around. A generational top QB that Belichick lucked into.

They've never won a championship with a team put together for offense.

And for all the crap about Peyton's weapons, lets not act like Brady didn't have his shot with weapons. Moss and Wes. They're also brought in other guys that just 'didn't work' with Brady. Everyone seems to work with Peyton.

Exactly. They never had a team built for offense yet Brady pushed them over the edge. Cannot underplay Brady here, it's like saying Montana was gifted so much post-season success due to the great D and talent around him on offense. And there were many regular season and post season games where Brady lit it up and carried the team or got them back into it or was so clutch despite a sub standard effort by the D.

And who says Moss and Welker couldn't work so well with Brady??? Moss only broke NFL records, the Pats offense broke NFL records, and Brady broke NFL records. While Welker had many outstanding years with Brady. Welker went backwards under Manning.

And what did Manning do with Decker Thomas Thomas and Welker last year? He broke records, but didn't win a super bowl either.

More than happy to have you on-board!

See you at the draft - which I'd love to have of an evening, but the NFL seems to think nobody outside the states plays fantasy, so it may have to be a Saturday morning job.

Will keep everyone advised in the "comments" section.

Report: Browns expect to lose Gordon for at least eight games

As NFL executive V.P. of labor relations Harold Henderson processes the evidence generated by a two-day appeal hearing and works toward an all-or-nothing ruling on whether Browns receiver Josh Gordon will be suspended 16 games, the team holds out hope for a compromise.

According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, the Browns expect to lose Gordon for at least eight games. If eight becomes the magic number, it will mean that the NFL and NFLPA have worked out a settlement.

It’s not known whether settlement talks have commenced; as of Monday, they hadn’t. And the league has plenty of leverage to bring to the negotiating table. The plain language of the substance-abuse policy, as agreed to by the union, points to the conclusion that Gordon tested positive while in Stage III, which results in an automatic one-year suspension.

Fair or not, especially given the “A” bottle/”B” bottle discrepancy and the low 15 ng/ml threshold for marijuana metabolites, the latest positive represents the culmination of multiple violations by Gordon in only two NFL seasons. And even though the World Anti-Doping Agency increased the minimum from 15 ng/ml to 150 ng/ml, that switch came just last year — and it occurred over the protests of the WADA scientific board.

That may not be enough for the NFL to overcome the P.R. fallout that necessarily will accompany kicking Gordon out of the league for doing that which is legal in two of the 22 states where the NFL does business, due possibly to an addiction similar to the one that may have resulted in Jim Irsay allegedly driving a car with potent prescription medications in his bloodstream. Although a suspension is expected for the Colts owner, Irsay doesn’t face a cold-turkey-or-else mandate, enforced via up to 10 drug tests per month.

Then there’s the Ray Rice angle. He gets suspended two games for knocking his wife out in an elevator, and Gordon gets abandoned by the NFL and the Browns for 365 days because half of his urine sample tested at 16 ng/ml and the other half tested at 13.6 ng/ml, an average of 14.8 ng/ml. Which is 0.2 ng/ml below the limit that is 135 ng/ml lower than WADA’s new maximum.

Despite those facts, there’s currently no reason to believe that the league is worried about the public reaction to a one-year suspension for Gordon. Of course, if the league had worried a little bit more about the public reaction to the Rice suspension, the league wouldn’t have made one of the most publicly criticized decisions in its recent history.

Lol at the Brady making belichick comments

Remember the Pats went 11-5 with Matt ****ing Cassell at QB the season Brady did his knee. If Brady missed the season I think the Pats would still be favorites for the division with Mallett as well.

Tldr

Brady great QB
Belichick greatest coach in recent history

From the Chicago Tribune:

"
A day after the Bears announced the indefinite suspension of tight end Martellus Bennett, coach Marc Trestman was asked directly to define his philosophy for the culture he’s trying to install at training camp. Trestman was clear his tune hasn’t changed with the messages he has been delivering.

“The overriding philosophy is to get to know each other, to develop levels of trust between each other — coaches and players, players and coaches — and to define our behavior through respect and humility,” Trestman said Wednesday. “We’re going to respect everybody around us. We’re going to treat them in high regard and we’re going to understand what humility means, which is that we’re part of something that’s bigger than ourselves. It’s really that simple.

Bennett was both fined and suspended after an over-the-top display of rage during practice Monday. Following an aggressive but legal play on the ball by cornerback Kyle Fuller, Bennett attacked the rookie, instigating a skirmish that convinced Trestman to call off the final 10 to 15 minutes of practice.
The Bears remain in contact with Bennett but have not offered specifics on when they’ll green light his return, labeling his status as “day to day.” Trestman wants to make sure the tight end understands the environment the Bears are trying to create around respect, humility and working toward a greater good"

Next they are going to sing Kumbaya...
