What are everyone's thoughts on selecting five rookies in the midfield and putting five premiums each in the back and forward line? I understand that the majority of scoring is obtained in the midfield but the reasoning is that the best cash cows are located in the midfield.

your funeral if you do that.:p

Well, implementing this strategy, it comes down to:

Dal Santo, Enright and Weedon (old strategy)
vs
Goodes, H. Shaw and Koby Stevens (new strategy)

Option two looks better on paper, so I'll go with that.

Why would that be the case? If you have a group of strong midfield types and DPP in the forwards and backs, I don't see any problems with loading up with midfield cash cows. I'm only starting 3 premium mids this year with the rest rookies. I wouldn't want less than 3 premiums though.

How do you classify a player as a premium? Do they have to be a minimum price?

A premium is generally a player that will end the season as one of the top 6-10 top average scores for their position come the end of the year.

This year I've seen a sudden spate of posts saying that players that aren't going to finish in the top six or seven in their position are a waste of space. I'd dispute that for a number of reasons:
- No one nails their whole team, so you have to make compromises somewhere.
- If a player is value for money and you think they'll finish in the top 15 to 20, I think you should go for it. That spare cash can be used elsewhere to bring up your overall team.
- This point is less applicable at the start of the year but still useful for planning upgrades - if a player does all his good scoring before you bring him in, it doesn't matter that he finishes in the top handful in the year if he was 50th in scoring for the weeks you brought him in.

Overall I think it's just too simple.

I agree. There are flaws with any strategy you adopt. A lot of people are taking the line of top 6 and gun/ rookie strategy to end up with the perfect team but it's not this simple. To win overall you need to be cranking out big scores from the get go so go for the guys who will score the best.

Some interesting figures from last year
Top total Scorers from last year – less than 22 games in brackets
Def - Goddard,Scotland,Deledio,Gibbs, Fisher, Birchall (21), Bock (21)
Mid– Pendelbury, Dal Santo,Murphy, Swan (21) Judd, Ablett (20)
Ruck – Cox, Goldstein (21)
Fwd – Goodes, Fyfe (21), Okeefe, Harvey, Cloke, S Johnson (20) Pavlich (20)
Note – Mumford (17) and Franklin (19) would have made the top on averages but not total score.

Last Years Winner Impromtu’s team based on the above
Started with
Def 3 out of the top 7 overall defenders for the year
Mid 3 out of 6
Ruck 1 out of 2
Fwd 3 out of 7
Finished with
Def 5 out of the top 7 overall defenders for the year.
Mid 4 out of 6

Does anybody know if it is possible to get hold of all the Supercoach scores for round 2 NAB cup? If so, where can we find it?

so how do you add Crawford??

Hey fellas. Just after an answer. It's played on my mind all day.

I am thinking of down grading Stevie J for ROK. And upgrading Berger for Mumford. The other three ruckmen I have are Stephensen, Giles and Hall.

I would recommend downgrading Stevie J as I don't think he is worth forking out the cash for. If I recall correctly I think ROK is injured currently.. Not sure how bad tho. Other targets could be Pav, Cloke, Zaha, Lewis.

Another ruckman to consider is Jarrad Redden from Port - Not sure if Hall will get games in front of Smith and Fraser.

Anyone know if you can name a league you created if you forgot to do it at start up?

At the moment it's just "public league" and I was hoping to change it.

I'm sure you could edit the league name if you created it. Email them if u can't find it I'm sure they'll oblige.

Out of curiosity who has actually taken the byes into real consideration? I know last year prompts had every trade planned before round 1 working around each bye. This year word is 3 gtd donuts no matter what but in reality most will cop 2 or 3 times that. Could be the difference between 1st n 10th
