Watts will go home, I don't think NC wants him. If we rated him, he's be emergency this week - he's really been going well with WWT. NC rates Stephens aghead of Watts and he has barely played in the past two months. Soemthing is wrong here.
Just look at our injuries vs. the smart clubs. This bloke has got you fooled. These kids need time and an environment that encourages them to develop. For a coach to put pressure on them to turn up to training this week and go flat out for a spot in the seniors round 1 is the hight of macho...
Craig has lost the plot - where's the investment in the future? To put pressure on 18 year olds to play immediately is dumb. Worse than that, it's just plain stupid! Half our squad has OP or other 'over training' injuries because of precisely this attitude.
Last year Watts arrived, did a...
Go look at this kid tomorrow. he is 95kg & ready to go. SANFL will not help him develop. Last year he ran himself silly for WWT & couldn't get a lead honoured - ended up crashing packs just to get near the footy. If he's fit, play him across the half back line in the AFL & he'll soon get...
Watts played most of his junior footy at CHB - that's where he'll get confidence at AFL level. Let the ball come to him. He's bigger than you think. Was 86kg when drafted now closer to 95kg. Get him out there & let him learn. Running around killing himself & not getting leads honoured at WWT...
If you can't see it Stiffy_18, just prey Wallace doesn't get the job. If he does, he'll have the AFC board & executive dancing to his tune. He's already shown that at the Bulldogs. He ran the club, ultimately screwed it up & bailed out when it suited him.
The club has to be run for for the...
The average player is gone well before 25. 30% don't play one game. Less than 30% play 50 games (i.e 3-4 years in the system). The average shelf life of a drafted AFL player is less than 3 years. As I said, it's a tough business.
This kid can play. He's big & resilient. More importantly he...
Of course he has to see for himself. Craig is one of his direct reports - that's waht managers do. This club is too soft, too conservative and had it too easy for too long. This has led us to slip into utter mediocrity.
It's time for strong leadership.
If Trigg has to 'request', he should be sacked. He's the CEO - the boss. If he's asking the coach's permission to observe in the box, he's the wrong man. Maybe that's part of our problem...
Retired at 30 is OK. Go hard, go early, & get out. KPP's just can't crack it over 30 anyway, they just become an expensive embarrassment. This is usually because clubs extend contracts & back end to make room in the cap - stupid, but they all do it (Hamill's 5 years will bite St Kilda on the...
If we're really about development play Watts at CHF & let the kid run. He will keep presenting & contesting. Carey can get a real good look at how he plays and teach him how to be better. Sitting him in the pocket is not helping him get better or telling us if he's any good.
Agree Torney for Smart. Don't underestimate the value of an enthusiastic, committed, team approach. We'll win by 16 points.
Lets get behind them, it's been too quiet for too long at home, these kids need support. 37,000 for Nigel was pathetic - turn up and barrack. Wins, confidence, &...
Guess we'll see. 18 year old, full-on pre season (not modified as per other AFL clubs), injured as a result of over training, had to work hard to recover, plays 6 or 7 games against men for the first time in his life, then a senior game. IMO a week off can only be good. He looks like a tough kid...
Watts plays for the Eagles - they also had a bye. That gave him the weekend off. He's played the past 6 or 7 for them plus the Crows game last week. He's young & the rest was probably very good for him. Will he play this week?
