Bollocks. This height stuff is a joke now.
Some players under 180cm:
- Eddie Betts
- Ben McGlynn
- Paul Puopolo
- Lewis Taylor
- Hartung
- Brent Harvey
- Cyril
- Stokes
- Jack Viney
The list goes on. Caleb Daniel would have been a first round pick if he was 15cm taller. It makes zero sense...
I have to add though, as much respect as Mick Malthouse should be given for his service to the AFL, going on national radio and deliberately sabotaging yourself rather than coming to the board in private is an extremely unprofessional move and one which will stain his career.
The selfishness he...
Needed to happen, especially after Mick essentially resigned on radio this morning.
What a sad end to an otherwise successful and historic career. Like him or not, clearly there were factors beyond just his coaching ability that have resulted in the dire scenario the club finds itself in. In...
I agree, but similiarly to the predicament the GC currently find themselves in, I think it's easy to underestimate the significance of the arrival of one Christopher Dylan Judd. Without him, I don't think we would have would finals in any of those three seasons. He was an absolute talisman...
Yeah, exactly. Well put.
So you can safely say that today's situation is 15 years in the making. Carlton has refused to modernise itself as a club for the modern game and has refused to adequately change its culture from that of the past. It's no wonder then that even extremely strong-willed...
The lack of physicality has been a problem at Carlton previous to the arrival of MM. How many times since Judd has arrived have the media questioned why he received so little assistance from team mates? How many times have we been criticised for being too soft mentally and physically, and...
Ha! She won't watch Hawthorn or Fremantle play, so imagine the chance of her trying to watch a full four quarters of us this season. Personally, I've struggled to do it at times it's been that unwatchable and/or predictable.
I agree with that too, but my points are still valid. Regardless of the quality of coach you are, it's very difficult to inherent a list that is at its most unbalanced at arguably the two most crucial ages for players. This occurred in BOTH regimes and I think goes to a long way to explain the...
Good points well made.
The detachment Mick Malthouse is displaying in terms of attributing a lack of success this season to injuries (which have actually been more insignificant than last year, and way less detrimental than injuries to other clubs) is bizarre. He has accepted basically no fault...
I agree that one of the silver linings to come out of this may be the ability of Malthouse to open up about the inner workings of the Carlton Football Club.
My brother is good friends with Anthony Koutoufides and I've heard from both Anthony himself and consistently from my brother this year...
That really sums it up, doesn't it. Two years ago and these were the youngest guys who should be coming into their breakout years. Out of that entire group of 16 players, four of them are left. 75% of young draftees gone, Watson will be gone and Buckley is struggling at this point in his career...
Yeah, in fact you could argue that one issue informed the other. Going out and getting Mick instead of a young coach was created by a board who thought you could just buy our way out of trouble, when we already had a defective list that was going nowhere fast. Getting us into the finals (via a...
It would be more of a surprise that people are NOT trying to remove the current board behind the scenes. Even with all of the Coterie and wealthy benefactors who have tried to inculcate themselves in the club by splashing cash around, there is still a good amount of rational and logical people...
If Betts wanted to leave 18 months ago, then surely there was some awareness from the club that this was the case. This begs the question as to why they didn't try and move him on sooner and maximise the value that we could have received for him. On top of the poor recruitment and list...
Western Bulldogs would kindly disagree with you. Macrae, Dahlhaus, Bontempelli, Stringer, Hunter, Hrovat, Honeychurch and even Jong have all been in the last few years.
We've buggered up possibly 8 out of the last 10 drafts anyway.
Malthouses stubbornness can be an admirable trait if things are working well, but it becomes detrimental when things are not. He has steadfastly refused to adopt any changes to his coaching and to the style he wants to play. He has steadfastly refused to give young talent a consistent run and...
Tutt has shown promise in the last two weeks, looks like a midfielder who gives a lot of effort and can kick a goal. I think he's been OK.
Jones was a very poor decision from the start and has proven himself to be exactly what we expected.
Malthouses radio interview today was deplorable in my...
Thanks, appreciated. Unfortunately the analysis became pretty glaringly obvious after the second round, it's been almost the same performance for the last six weeks in a row. That is probably the most disappointing part of the season and perhaps the reason why I cannot see any real change in...
Although there are issues all over the ground, the biggest issue is with the forward line.
As you rightly stated, the ease with which teams are able to rebound out of 50 seemingly unopposed is really extraordinary, especially for AFL level. I think there are multiple reasons as to why this is...
Furthermore, other news sources are saying the same thing:

http://www.3aw.com.au/news/rumour-file-visy-park-no-longer-ikon-moves-into-carlton-20150216-13flhp.html
From that 3aw...
I have no idea, but the information came through an article on the CFC official website so it's hard to imagine what exactly the hoax is. It's not Aprils Fools, nor was yesterday any significant date as far as I can tell.
I'm just as curious as you to know what is going on, hence the thread
This is the other good point. There has been no official announcements.
The only reason I heard about it was through this article: http://www.carltonfc.com.au/news/2015-02-16/blues-not-rushing
"LoGiudice unveiled the Blues' new naming rights sponsor for Princes Park on Monday, with commercial...
So on Monday, Carlton announced a new ground sponsorship with "Ikon Services" which will be, to quote Mark LoGiudice, for a "significant period of time".
Does anyone know anything about these guys? Their website is 'coming soon', they have one office in North Melbourne and they have no real...
Going for the awesome names this year.
It's pronounced Vojo-Rainbow, Bruce and Dennis are going to have a field day with that. Imagine the puns.
A lot to like about this kid, may very well be a like-for-like replacement for Kade
How is he faring with the foot injury? How much did it affect his 2014 season?
I feel bad for him, seems that he's almost become a forgotten talent with all of the trades in the last two seasons. When we got him at Pick 39 a lot of people we're saying we'd landed a bargain and he clearly looked...
I'd say there's significant improvement expected for all of the guys bar maybe the last two. Might not get top-level out of all of them but I'd be very disappointed if those names mentioned aren't all quality blues players for the next decade.
