Where does Jimmy Bartel now rank amongst the '01 draftees (Judd, Ablett, Swan, Hodge etc)?

It's a team game. You cannot count finals success re win-loss. Gary Ablett Snr didn't win a flag, so is Bartel better than him?

Question: Do any players/club officials have BigFooty accounts?

Don't know of any players, but I heard Hyperagressivedonk is a TV celebrity who used to play high grade suburban football.

Will Tom Hawkins be on an AFL list in 2 years?

Tom Hawkins was excellent in the GF, but it's a bit harsh having a go at those that have put him down in the past. Quite simply he HAS been a spud in the past and even he admitted his form had been ordinary. His heritage is Melbourne Grammar which is highly reknowned for producing skilful but...

Someone had Brian Lake at 5! Best laugh I've had for a long time ;)

    Improving mental toughness

You can ride for longer because it's easier. Also, you don't ride your bike around a footy field, you run ;)

Movie What's the last movie you saw? (2)

Re: What's the last movie you saw? Agreed, both very good. Snowtown certainly is chilling. Some excellent acting esp. main guy.

    Who will Challenge Collingwood

I think the OP is drunk. It should read who will challenge Geelong. Collingwood choked (again) - they didn't win, dude! I think Hawks, Blues and Eagles will continue to rise and challenge Cats.

    Improving mental toughness

Run hills. Even better, run up sand dunes if you have them close by. Not only will your stamina improve, but so will your mental strength as you start pushing through pain barriers. Best thing is that when you run around the footy oval you will find it a lot easier than the other players...

Movie What's the last movie you saw? (2)

Re: What's the last movie you saw? That movie's a cracker! Awesome acting, clever story and mad setting with an eerie soundtrack. One you have to see a few times to make your mind up what happened! Haven't seen the others. Wanna see Piranha.

Movie What's the last movie you saw? (2)

Re: What's the last movie you saw? I gave Horrible Bosses 4/10 too. Had some good moments like Kevin Spacey tricking him to drink in the morning and Jennifer Aniston being sexy as. But the jokes got lamer and repetitive. You can always spot a weak movie coming when they advertise it to the...

    Biggest problem inthe AFL ?

The thing that irks me most is that there are too many lopsided games. 2 divisions would help harness this with teams being relegated from first div and promoted from second. It would also give weaker teams more success and the chance to win a premiership, be it minor. Plus it would make the...

Dan26's idea to improve the AFL #1 : Play football on Good Friday.

How important is a winning culture to a club?

DOW! My mistake, misread article... but 16 is still huge!

How important is a winning culture to a club?

lol, you can't win 'em all, but I'd say 29 flags including 2011 and 4 Grand Finals in the last 10 years is pretty strong ;)
  18. B

How important is a winning culture to a club?

You only have to go to local clubs to understand how important a winning culture is. Some clubs like Port Melbourne expect to win premierships and that's why they win. It's a feeling you can only understand if you've been part of a club, winning or losing.

Chris Judd - Greatest player of the 21st Century (so far)

Ablett and Judd both amazing footballers but I would go to war with Judd first. He often has players hanging off him and still pulls away with the ball while Ablett gets fed more. Judd does the harder stuff which I rate very highly in such a brutal sport and also brings other players into the...

Certified Legendary Thread Sneaking in to the Grand Final............

My mate got thru in 08 GF dressed as batman. He said he was part of the pre-game entertainment and was running late and couldn't find his ticket! Him and a mate also get into the brownlow after party sometimes (not dressed as batman!). A few years ago he was at the brownlow hanging out with...

Who was worst on ground in Pies v Hawks?

Hale was rubbish. He has no idea how to take a contested mark for a big man. And he gives a way silly free kicks. Look up the other end of the ground and Dawes and Cloke secure a win and at least Leigh Browne provides a massive bump on Lewis at the start of the last quarter when something was...

    Hawthorns Gameplan

Hats off pies. Great win. We blew it bad. Hale is a spudmeister and Bateman shouldn't get another game. Was he drifting off out there, just dreaming about his old dreadlocks and the days when the hawks were mean and strong of mind? GO EAGLES!! HOW MUCH DOLLARS FOR DANIEL KERR IN TRADE...

Names for the Wedge Tail Eagles at MCG

Without wanting to be too picky, I don't think there's any assumptions that eagles only come from WA. The West Coast names being offered are in reference to the eagles, you know, the mascot of West Coast?! ;) and oh yeah eagles are big ****ers. Saw one munching on some road kill in NT once...

    Hawthorns Gameplan

I think whatever style we play we need to rough them up. Play that unsociable footy that won it for us in 08. Collingwood didn't like being gangtackled the last time they met Geelong and we need to do the same. Smash the fairy princesses!

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

Hey Donk bet you'd be back on the nicotine in the lead up to a cats/ hawks GF! I'm 3 years off em but i reckon i'd get out the cigars if we won ;) btw wonder how much sleep Tarrant is getting this week?!

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

@Sloth: Huh? I think you've been concussed for a few weeks, Digger! Let's check the missing weeks of football from your side's backline recently... Reid's missed the last 2 weeks (inc. a final), Shaw has missed 9 of the last 10 weeks, Maxwell missed 4 of the last 5 and Davis 3 of the last 5...

    Visy Poach: chickens coming home

@Old Spice 14:28 today... LOL that's quite funny, but ur the one dancing in the magic garden if u don't believe there's a bit going under the table down at pie land. And I'm not talking about Eddie and Bucks at dinner time. Keep dreaming, Sunshine!

Could Buddy spoil the party for Collingwood?

Buddy is the best forward in the league up against a Collingwood backline who haven't played a heap of football lately. With full respect to the magpies I think they are off the boil and Hawthorn are looking a lot like 2008. And down the other end Gibson will show Darcy and KB what he thinks...

    Visy Poach: chickens coming home

The OP is a bit rich coming from a Collingwood supporter! You seriously don't think Daisy Thomas will be looked after with real estate and/or work when he retires due to staying at Collingwood. Pffft... Time to grow a brain, son ;)
