I loved the squirm from the Polish commentators when Bernie hit the passing shot winner to take the set. Kubot was a man on drugs for that set but it wasn't enough :p
edit: not sure "squirm" was the correct word there, oh well
I really enjoyed watching the Tomic match, very nice quality, his opponent played better than Kubot that's for sure. Nice serving.
Hewitt's match was just a borefest, Kubot had nothing and Lleyton just rolled him.
Time throw Khawaja out for good, unless he makes a ton of runs in domestic and forces his way back in.
The guy just doesn't know how to make runs. Also how he just does a fake front foot defense against good balls is cringeworthy. No footwork and just hangs the bat out there to get the edge...
I would still take Haddin over Wade on batting alone.
He's put in some really good innings in the past, why do you guys want to destroy some of the last few good things in our team I don't understand...
If only Khawaja played every ball in his innings like he plays the first.
Bloody shit gets your hopes up when he comes in, then what follows is utter garbage.
I would love it if Cummins is fit, has a good start to the summer and plays.
Time to rough up the likes of Cook, Trott and Bell, they are having it easy now. Time to expose some of the weakness of the English batsmen:
- No way is Trott supposed to succeed playing across the line of straight...
Not impressed by the footwork. Also she needs to keep the ball on the ground, but it's hard to do against a tennis ball.
I would like to see her play a leg glance and a late cut before I give her the Future Bradman mark of approval.
To be honest though, she's much better than the indian...
Clarke is by far the better fielder of these 3. Why is this even being discussed?
Clarke and Cook are ahead of Amla by a good margin currently. Amla's good form was a year ago.
Anyone watch the Newks?
Every time they talked about Matosevic, they kept criticizing him and saying how horrible his attitude was, and that Pat gave him tough love. Then they talked about the disagreements he had with Tennis Australia. All he could do is just sit there and give a little...
Don't judge, he was going well last year :(
Another point I would like to say is injuries are unavoidable for a fast bowler at such a young age. Better he is injured now and not 2 years on from now.
Following on from that point, better to be injured after a Test than after a Shield match...
Yes well said.
I think Hughes' problem is half bad technique and half mental. If he toughens up and stops being so fidgety and nervous against the short ball, he can take that dismissal out of the equation even though he would still be limited in that area.
Khawaja has not looked anywhere near like building an innings in his Test career.
Hughes is a flashy batsmen, but he is actually very good at building an innings. Knows how to get the big scores.
When I said "he can", I meant he can perform at Test cricket.
His selection was a gamble, but it payed off, he single-handedly won us the match and established himself as a future star. Now he is guaranteed an automatic selection as long as he's fit.
You don't follow cricket very well do you? See his Test match debut. He suffered the ankle problem before the 2nd innings.
Im not at all. You are the one criticizing his selection based on form. He will always be an automatic selection as long as he's fit.
You haters will just have to deal...
Excuse me but you need to remember why you made this thread.
Sure most likely he will break down again, but he will win you the match as well.
It is a matter of fitness, not performance.
Only flaw in your argument, he can.
His bowling is more effective at longer forms too, in T20 he has to master the yorker (which he hasn't) and he is wayward most of the time due to the short format, so he can't build up any pressure or rhythm.
He needs to sacrifice T20 for First-Class...
He just bowls the same stuff over and over again. Whenever he tries something new he is made to look ordinary. So he has to stick with that good line and length. If you call that aggressive then I guess you don't know what aggressive fast bowling is.
