I just explained to my 7 year old son what had happened and how instrumental Shane was in our beloved Kanga's staying in Melbourne.
He was visibly upset, 2 minutes later with tears in his eyes, he said "who will make sure North Melbourne is ok now?"
I know he will watch over everything...
RIP Lidge
I met Lidge for the first time at last year's cocktail party, we had MANY drinks and he introduced me to my first Bloody Mary, a drink I will always associat with him. I never even knew he was 'Lidge' I knew him only as Shane. I would see him many times at the London and at...
When I was in year 12, Wayne had just been named Captain at age 21, back then I was an aspiring Sport's Journalist and Wayne let me come down to the club one thursday after training and interview him for part of my writing folio. he gave me an hour of his time and was very honest with my 'hard...
It's like watching an accident, I want to look away but can't.
I just hope wayne can get back to being Wayne, for himself and his daughter.
He will always be a footy field legend, let's just hope he can get back to being a good bloke :)
Good luck Wayne.
I agree and did so yesterday.
I can't think of another AFL player retired or not that would open his home the way he did and credit to Lisa for letting him do it!
I think it has been summed up perfectly, not much I can add, great food, as 35eye said we got our kisses and are both dying very happy! AND we got to go in the house to use the toilet because the line was too long so Lisa Archer pulled us out of the line and took us into the house which from...
I thoroughly enjoyed myself last night at the great man's house.
Was an absolute honour.
Anyone else that attend have a good night?
Was great to meet 35eye too :)
Another sterling effort from the boys this year for the BBQ!
Was fantastic to see them all and to finally get Carlton Draught instead of VB ;)
Once again the day ended at 3am for the 3rd year in a row! The only problem is when 5pm rolls around, you start wishing next year's BBQ was here...
R.I.P. Macca.
Never to be forgotten.
Will always remember the fabulous times in the 90's when you were in every way larger than life.
The place just wont be the same without you mate.
Champion Bloke.
Congratulations Andy, thouroughly deserved nomination! Was very proud when I heard the news from the club yesterday afternoon. Look forward to seeing many more great games from you and also look forward to being your player sponsor for the remainder of your career.
Again, well done! :thumbsu:
I went, I took my 5 year old and he had an absolute ball. he loved the rides and we didn't have to line up once for a single ride. He went on all of them more than once too (as did I, the matterhorn and break dance :p )
he also had his photo taken with Santa, Boomer, Shagga, Harro...
I hope it's just printing mistakes with this whole 'Canberra' Kangaroo's thing.
This whole debarcle has me thinking of the Albuquerque Isotopes episode in the Simpsons where they are trying to re locate the Isotopes from Springfield to Albuquerque without actually teling the fans ;)
I am a little lost as to where exactly he 'didn't make it'? It looks to me as though he played 70 odd AFL games between 2 clubs, that's alot more than alot of people. I could be mistaken though, so how did he not make it?
He sure does, I told him so at the B & F, he was, well mildly amused, :D I do not think it is the first time he has been told that :)
BTW Helmie is absolutely right, the new players are definately on the site.
Perry doesn't want any other number besides his own. He said it was the first number he had and he likes it. Twas his response when I asked him about a month ago if he thought he would get Colby's number. So unless he changes his mind we will see him in his current number for a while :)
I have quite a few more pics that have been posted on a couple of other sites, here is one link:
Best and Fairest pics
If anyone wants them pm me and I will be more than happy to email them to you.
Just when I thought I could not love him any more, he really is a true champion. I spent a little while with him at the best and fairest and expressed to him how much he has meant to me as a player over his time at North and also told him what a champion guy he is. He said of all the things he...
I am still sceptical at the truth of this falling out. I attended the best and fairest on saturday night and Motlop and Sansbury were together for the majority of the night, talking and laughing, there certainly didn't look to be an hard feelings. I also saw him talk to Wells a few times. I...
