I think they said on channel 7 news that Stuart Cochrane has been delisted by Port as well, I only heard a snippet, anyone else hear?

Digby was one of my favorite footballer, good bloke and knew how to play the game. Had a great football brain, sadly does not have the modern day athletic body

Farewell to the pr0n Star.

Good luck to him in the WAFL (or VFL).
Yeah I'd love for him to stick around and play with the boys at North Ballarat or Tassie.

His move to Carlton was a good one, despite him being delisted today. If he had stayed at North he would have been cut 1-2 years ago. I hope he gets another chance, but I just can't see it.

Me too. I had a soft spot for Diggers. Would love to be able to cheer for him again. He'd still be a very good player at vfl level.

Was a decent player for us Diggers.. Best of luck in the future..

Still remember Jade Rawlings bagging him when he kicked his first goal haha

It's hard not to like Digby. A whole hearted trier who gave his best despite a lack of natural ability and athleticism for this level. He'll bob up again at some lower level (VFL, WAFL, SANFL...or even the mighty EFL!!). I'll remember his celebration in one of his first games against Hawthorn in 2001...only for our man Jade to take the plss out of him later on. (it was our man Jonny Hay who smothered Kingy late in that match wasn't it?)

What was I saying in another thread about regurgitating old threads? I want the one where I argued, despite popular opinion, or at least some vigorous opposition, that the guy would never make it. Vindicated!

Shame, but he wasn't quite up to it. He was just about the most reliable kicks for goal I've ever seen, though. If he had a set shot within 55 he nailed it every time. Just couldn't get enough of the pill.

Well done! Yay for Kimbo!

I am a little lost as to where exactly he 'didn't make it'? It looks to me as though he played 70 odd AFL games between 2 clubs, that's alot more than alot of people. I could be mistaken though, so how did he not make it?

Poor bugger. Actually appreciated him. Will always recall his HIP & SHOULDER @ Manuka that knocked Matty Primus off his perch. That was as BIG as a body on body hit Primus would ever experience. Also took a few BIG grabs for North. Can't figure out why Carlton gave him the flick ?? Would of thought he had another year in him.

I'm sure many players like Digby in the past have gone on and played 150+ in more successful clubs... wrong time, wrong place for Digby I think.

Nice point - it's all relative, isn't it? I guess "making it" is playing at least 10 years of AFL, making AA and/or club team of the century, with a lap around the MCG after a graceful and timely retirement.

Some good memories for us - and probably for Carton fans, who at least had a couple of years of trade gloating - so I hope Diggers has plenty of great memories of his AFL time, and some fun years ahead playing at levels where he can rip it apart.

Yeah, Stuey got delisted also. In todays Herald Sun.

Great bloke, thought he had a few good 'run with' games for Port this year.

Both players extended their careers by moving. Digby would make an interesting pick up for a VFL club - lost track of Cochrane so not sure what he still has to offer.

I wish both ex Kangaroos well and hope they get to kick on at another level.

"Cochers" has been playing as a tagger for Central Districts in the SANFL (when not in Port Power) , he played in Central's last 2 winning Grand Finals.

If Stuey doesn't nominate for the draft he would probably continue on at Centrals. They have been the dominant team in the SANFL for the last 6 years.

Nice one.
Argued that a forward who was continually in and out of the seniors was not going to make it.

Now with vision like that, who is going to win the Caulfield Cup?
