Had a hit at Colac a few days ago, nice course, some tough greens. Had 88 after a double and triple bogey on the first two holes.
Off to The Sands at Torquay tomorrow.

Somehow I have hit some rare and consistent form over the past 5 weeks, Saturday scores of 34, 36, 36, 37 and 39 has seen my handicap crunched from 20 to 15 across those 5 rounds. The 39 was also by far my best stroke score ever 85, previous best was 89.
I can sense a very firm crashing back...
Had 31 points today, in good news the hole I had 14 on yesterday I managed to par it today in a nice turnaround!
The difference between my best and worst is vast and changes hole to hole, had 7 pars today with 5 genuine birdy chances... but too many double bogeys or the odd triple bogey keep...
Comp back tomorrow!
Got out for 18 today as well, an interesting round to say the least! Played some really good holes but 3 blow out holes (including a 14 [emoji23] which I have never been close to before, 3 lost balls in the bush!)
Ended up with 26 points which considering the bad holes...
39 points today, 89 off the stick, felt like the best round I’ve played.
Second time I’ve broken 90 in the last 7 weeks (89 both times). Still having too many putts and chipping needs tidying up, but there is progress nonetheless.

I can see a time where I can shave 10 or so shots off my handicap and be around the 9-10 mark but after watching old mate off scratch I don’t think I’ll ever be getting anywhere near the low single digits!

29 points today, no wipes which means a lot of 1s and 2s and not many good holes, but it was consistent.
5 or 6 puts that either stopped on the lip or missed by the tiniest of margins so could of easily been in the mid 30s if things went my way.
Played with a fella who is off scratch, was...
I’m currently off 20 but that’s too low for me, should be around mid 20s, the best thing I have done recently is play with a couple of low handicappers. Pick their brain and watch them play when you can, I’ve played my best golf in those situations.

24 points today.
Got a serious case of the chipping and putting yips at the moment. I’ve never been great with chipping or those short approach shots but my putting is normally pretty reasonable, just lost all touch the last few rounds.

I’ve shortened my backswing over the last month and it has drastically reduced my slice with irons and driver, very rarely slice the driver now.
I’ve lost maybe 10-15m of distance but I’m more than happy to lose that to hit more fairways.

Played stroke today, had 89 off the stick (first time breaking the 90 barrier), net score 68.
Putting and short game continues to leave plenty of shots on the course but that was as good as I’ve played, ever.

First time playing comp today, Stableford.
Started well with 18 on front nine, lost the plot with the putter and short game on the back nine and only had 9.

Thanks, I’ve been experiencing the pain and love on and off over the years as a very casual golfer but with no footy and getting to the end of my footy career I thought I’d take the plunge and get into it a bit more!
I’m in North East Victoria, play at Jubilee Golf Club just outside of...
Stevo,
You’ve missed the point, I was more responding to the statement -
“There are no active cases and hasn’t been a new case for ages, this virus needs someone with it to spread it, so how is starting football in a virus free region going to suddenly see a spike?”
Playing football...
So what happens then if restrictions are eased up here but a club has players from Melbourne or areas from places with harsher restrictions...

I’m sure this might have been asked previously however I’ll ask it again so apologies, I’m looking at getting some new clubs (driver, hybrid and irons) and was thinking of doing it properly and getting fitted for them, I’m in NE Vic so closest golf shop is a Drummond Golf (50mins away) and was...
Does anyone use the Volvik Vivid balls?
I’m an amateur in the true sense of the word but I seem to be able to hit them straighter, although have lost a couple of yards of distance.

Does anyone else use the matte coloured Volvik balls and what’s your thoughts?
I use them and thoroughly enjoy them, seem to get less of a slice but have lost some distance (super easy to find the ball as well which is a bonus).

Tend to agree, they have worked hard for a few years now and earned their spot in the sporting landscape, a good product with elite skilled players. Lots of respect for all the players, coaches and administrators
