Buggered if I know! Clark Keating told me he was. Beatson liked him, possibly him leaving might have a had something to do with it, or maybe could be his age.
Kannis was born 15 Dec 87 according to Carnival Program. He's 2 weeks and a bit out from showing up again next year. Or, is he still eligible for 18's State team at that age? He had one and 1/2 years off because of 2 hernia operations (this year was his first year back), maybe he'll become...
Mail is that Fixter is going to Brisbane in PSD and ALL Grubs ROOKIE selections for Brisbane are good ones - 80% accurate! (20% difference depending on how Leppa pulled up tonight) he could be out for a long while, meaning that Brisbane will have to rethink their picks. But good thing is that...
Yeah, it would be good to see footydraft.com put up a Mock Rookie Draft. Will this be happening?
BRISBANE (not including Internationals)
Forsyth
Kannis
Stiller
Ryswick
Hey yeah thanks mate! heaps of good information! I think Kannis was a local Southport Sharks player at age 16 because I saw his name in the Qld squad for that year.
Cut off is 31st December 2005. You have to be 18 or over by 31st December 2005. I'm not sure how far back it goes. I think until 1983 birthdates. Yeah Kannis is also orignally from Sydney
Thanks for that. By the way, your picks in the Rookie Draft for Brisbane were good ones! I was disappointed we didn't get Lucy in the Draft and Hooper was a big surprise! Hopefully we'll see your Rookie picks develope over the next 2 years into dynamite KPP's.
I've read what "irish" wrote that the Irish boys aren't counted in the normal Rookie Draft for Brisbane and they go down as International Rookies?? How accurate is this? It would mean Brisbane has 6 picks then.
Cool, so if you are born those years it means you are eligible. Is the last cut off date December 31st 87? I've heard from a Management Company up here in Brisbane that because Forsyth from Brisbane was promised 2 years, they'll be re signing him on their Rookie List. They delisted him because...
Hey, that's very interesting! Would be real bad luck for Kannis who'd be a perfect candidate for Brisbane to develope on their Rookie list. Anybody know the cut-off date for sure?
Well, I have to say you dont have to be Enistein to realize how many players would be disappointred to miss out this year. Thank god for The Rookie Draft. I can't wait for that to happen! So many up and coming great players will be on those lists. As a Brisbane supporter, I would like to see...
Hard to say but how do you rate a number one Rookie if Brisbane and Sydney have their picks first? I would rate Kannis and Gilbert from Qld as strong contenders for top spot here (if they dont get drafted).
As for 2nd pick, I would stick with Lucy. Did you see his games?? He was outstanding plus, he played with Brisbane reserves all this year and trained with them as well. He and Dzufer are my 2 and 3 picks for Brisbane, they've had their eyes on them all year. Mills has a far worse kicking style...
Yeah I see what you mean Grub. IMO with 2 Best on Grounds (1st and 2nd games) Kannis should go in the Draft but as a local Rookie, it would be better for his development if he stayed put up here. For example, I'd like to see him in 2 - 3 years time! I've seen Southport play quite a few times and...
