At the end of the day I think it's becoming clearer he's just not in our best side. Definitely strikes me as a player stuck between the levels of VFL and AFL - clearly a half-level above just being a state league regular but also just lacks some of the natural speed/agility/finesse that sets...
Very smart from C-Mac there - didn't get caught up in the push and shove but pulled the richmond timewaster off moorey then ran into space. Nice goal too.
Glass turning 22 in september and Nash 21 in July, think these blokes have significant improvement ahead and believe both can play in our future best 22 100%
Was in the pocket of the same end as varcoe when he missed that last shot. Never felt more relief in my life. That game was absolutely unreal. Perhaps the best win of the cats-hawks rivalry to date.
Dimma is far to good down back to move from that part of the ground and even if he was to be moved, think it would be up forward seeing as he played his junior footy there.
Sicily hardwick stratton impey all seem certainties for our backline so far, then theres Frawey who seems next to a certainty and one or two(including a bench spot) more backline spots for Brand, Glass, Scrimshaw, Birchall and TOB to contest for assuming all above are fit. Seems like birchall...
I think generally, nash will play as a forward and think he can earn a spot in a pocket or flank to play as a pressure forward with elite fitness, speed, tackling and even size to an extent. Not to mention Nash turns 21 in july so youth is well and truly on his side. May not have the football IQ...
Think both Nash and Glass have significant best 22 roles in the near future at Hawthorn. Nash is an extremely exciting prospect for his raw physical attributes, still remember being absolutely gobsmacked watching him play against the Saints in round 22 last year. Glass is very close to breaking...
but scully wont be ready to play anywhere near round 1.
Frawley is a tricky one for me, because i love Brand's game so much and think having both brand and frawley in the team will cause limitations to our rebounding. Pretty hard to not give the man a spot after what he's done for our club though.
B:Glass Stratton Hardwick
HB: Birchall/Scrimshaw Sicily Impey
Glass may not find a spot over the likes of Frawley or Brand but believe his run out of the backline may be a valuable asset for us with impey looking to play some increased midfield time. Birchall/Scrimshaw probably rests with...
