Mate I'd give my left nut to have a fwd as good as Travis was at his peak.
Not one of our guys has kicked over 50 goals nor do they take anywhere near the amount of marks Travis did.
But yeah goal accuracy inside 40m, i agree look away.
I actually disagree that he hasn't "fired a shot". Imo he has shown he can mix it within games and had quarters of good footy including his debut game as a whole.
Congratulations to Barry, all the best in steering this ship onto the future.
Thanks to Jeff Browne for all the efforts since taking over all the best with your health and future.
Yet he's not only kicked less goals then Naughton he's had less shots on goal then him. With both being at same stage of career.
Imo JUH lead and Mark style game is much easier to plan for then Nuaghton who is both capable on lead and as a contested marking pack buster.
He hasn't performed better then Naughton has to date.
Naughtons 4th season 2021 is better then Jamarahs 4th year 2024.
And Naughton didn't have the support then that Darcy and JUH have in large thanks to Naughton.
And Naughton is a pack buster, Jamarah is different in his approach.
Yeah it's Nicks diagonal movements that tend to break most chasers.
Nick is quick but not as quick as some others, however his timing for speed changes and direction changes is next level elite. This is where he often burns them off.
There are still players who throw themselves in and often win head high frees as a result. Titch and Adams play like it at the pies.
Every team still usually has one.
Yeah you could be right but it may depend on how Allan, McCreery (think midfield transition still on cards)and co come on.
As Mitchell, Pendles and Steele may all hang it up at years end.
Warning: Graphic content this may make some people spew in their mouth a little.
He actually reminds me a little of this former SA product, in his movement and build. If he could have half the career of this bloke it would be a good thing.
Its not a great sign that his body keeps breaking down under load.
I hope the club makes plans to be without him (invest into Allan) and if he (Mitchell) gets right it's a bonus.
I will say Reef although recruited as potentially a tall mid played only a few games in the role pre AFL.
He also has hardly played it as part of his development at VFL level.
Been mostly used as a marking fwd and at 194cm would fit the tall fwd takes time bill.
He also as you stated has been...
Imo hasn't been given a fair crack. For TOG he's our best goal kicker.
Gets limited game time and also very rarely gets more then 1 week in the team.
He's quick, good size, generally cracks in when not blowing a gasket.
Kicking skills are good and reasonably agile for his size.
Hopefully the club are putting in the required recourses to make it work.
GC is apparently next level with what they put into thier academies.
Sydney and GWS have also in recent years really pumped money into it. And it's paying off for all of them.
Apparently most other clubs put very, very...
Imo if they didn't go on to even 50 AFL games as top 10 picks they are a bust. It was largely a wasted draft for Collingwood.
Schaz admittedly had an almost season in 2018.
Out of the game with 41 games to his name.
Anyway he had plenty of hits back then imo still one of the better talent ids...
I do agree that recruiters tend to have a time in the sun and then get questionable as their type that they like doesnt suite the game of the time.
Judkins was a good example whom Hine took over from.
He built that great 00 Essendon team then came to us and we got the fat arsed wombat squad...
Which makes them a bust imo. Especially given the limited games played and never really looking likely at AFL level.
Where as Sinkers was a slow burn but fi ally was looking the part off HBF as a runner. Then Concussion. Imo that's a hit as he was showing AFL capabilities but injury curtailed him.
Hines hits some are borderline but scrape in.
*Hine took over towards end of 04.

Going to be a very nervous time at Pieland over next 5 to 10 years.
Thanks Dekka for all the efforts and teams you have helped assemble over the years. Great talent scout and has really played a massive part in our continued success over that period. All the best with your future endeavours.
That's now Richmond's new play ground thanks to Dimma.
They now have Dave Matthews greasing the wheel for them at GWS and Dimma doing favours at GC.
Geelong will be on the outer now.
