Only warner beats Symonds in both average & strike rate (& openers generally have higher averages for reasons I mentioned earlier). Statswise his odi record is among very best for Australia.

You need to go back to basics. Not outs mean innings cut short. Ponting batting at top had more time to build innings & really get going when he had his eye in. Symonds would've made bigger scores & did when given the chance.

Are you really pulling not out card?! Means Symonds average should actually be higher, particularly a lot of the time he came in right at the end & was expected to go big. Statistically one of Australia's great odi batsmen.
