I agree that the most worrying trend for me under JL is our slow starts.
I used to think it was just a random trend however it's been a problem for multiple seasons now.
Even against the dee's when we won by 100 we were 2 goals down to start the game.
Hawks are not even close to us on talent. Not even close.
We had 3 of our most important players go down while they have stayed mostly healthy, only difference.
It's not about having plenty of time left though.
It's about the list dynamics simply not being good enough yet.
You can't go in to a top 4 clash and deep in to finals when your key position players are:
FB: Draper 19 years
CHB: Cox (playing injured)
Ruck: Reidy 2 games total
CHF: Voss 20 and...
I remember how incredibly upset i was about Jaeger and Martin being stolen from WA to go to GC.
If you told me they would both end up at freo i would have had a heart attack. Now it couldnt be less exciting haha.
The fact that people assume JL is not a hard ass because he doesn't yell or show aggressiveness. Everything you said in those first 3 paragraphs is exactly my point.
None of us know exactly how critical or challenging JL is, people assume he is not those things because he doesnt put holes in...
The needing a mongrel coach is so old school lol. The last premiership coach is such a scaredy cat he was too scared to give the two premiership players that he was trading a call goodbye.
Its a new generation. Hard ass coaches just turn people off. Its a much more powerful feeling not wanting...
I find it funny how in a game that involves so much luck, a couple of points can completely change peoples views on a performance. Bailley doesnt give that 50m pen away, and we get given our 50m pen, we win the gws game and suddenly all the people bagging JL and all the players would be praising...
We should be fine for cap space shouldnt we? By all reports we have been attempting to pay unders to almost everyone, which has lead to a tonne of players leaving.
Would we have expected to lose players if Schultz, Henry, Blake Acres, Griffin Logue, Darcy Tucker, Rory Lobb, Lloyd Meek etc had...
I dont consider Aish to be wasted cap space tbh. He wouldnt be on a great deal and is very handy depth for a number of positions. The others are a bit of a nightmare though.
Chris you must have some strange feelings towards this draft.
Freo have 3 first rounders and an early second, in a very deep draft, yet we look like trading away most of the picks.
All your research just for us to possibly not use any haha
Picket becoming unlikely is heart breaking.
Surely we already have a fair chunk of cap space considering how many players we have let go of recently. We need to salary dump Brodie and Jaeger to our neighbours.
When your injured you need to cut down the calories to suit your energy needs. He clearly doesnt. Both JL and Serong have hinted to such. His body is hard evidence. The club doesnt have a camera at his house to make sure he isnt eating a tub of ice cream a night even if the club dieticians are...
You need to calm down man. Every single player on our list would be getting low balled. Every player on every list in a side packed with talent gets lowballed.
Sam Mitchell and Luke Hodge got low balled to bring in Lake.
Thats how you build top tier lists. Players will play for less than...
people wanting the second youngest side in the comp to beat 3 of the top 4 teams with Alex Pearce (who is also our captain, our best player and our most important player), Treacy, Darcy, and Cox on one leg all out are being a bit niave. No game plan or pump up speach can over come that. It hurts...
Cant believe how good Draper is. Caught me by complete surprise. Even has the courage to intercept mark and to break tackles. Crazy. Potential is wild.
Richmond paying part of the salary would be very useful. I wonder if they would accept saints early second rounder as the sweetener for this. It is a deep draft.
9+17+25
Sharp doesn't have a right foot either. His kicking is terrible. It's decent at goals where the objective is much more simple. But his kicking to team mates is shocking.
He does make up for it with his running ability though. He's similair to Langdon in that way.
I miss the olden day skilful...
This is so wrong 😂
Owies has no athletic ability but is a clever goal sneak who consistently finishes his chances.
Emmet is the exact opposite lmao
Edit: I'm not necessarily saying we should pick up owies, only that calling owies a smaller emmet had to be called out haha
