It seems that clubs that do come up have a lot of players that don't want to play premier division for a variety of reasons. Maybe it may get to a stage of a club tanking in a grand final in a lower division so they don't have to find an extra 100,000 large to be competitive.

Was good to see the bounce at Clifton Park he is one of the best bounces in the AFL umpires squad. Suppose you have to be good at something to make it,good to see him at local level and huge for the other officiating umpires being mentored.

Also news that a current AFL umpire will be making his comeback from injury in the Abers vs Greenvale game. Not sure if this was done with the AFL and EDFL choosing game of the round for the return but could lift/lower standard of umpiring for the game.

This really opens the bottom half of the draw and could be a 4 way tussle in the 2nd half of the year.

A few Abers supporters last year were concerned about always having to dip into their pockets each week to support the club. With a million juniors paying memberships I suppose they have a good starting point but when locals feel they are "Just" a number the real spirit of a club can slowly die...
