Win, lose or draw, I don't think we can afford to ever play Scarlett, lonergan, Taylor, mackie, and dasher in the same side. For mine, mackie or dash need to make way.
Many of you may still be friends with him, but he turned his back on the club we love. He left us believing we were finished, and his future was more assured at another club. By all means, shake his hand after the game, but not one of you bumped him, not one of you hit him, not one of you made...
Excellent post until this. Ferguson is the most overrated cricketer in the country. Averages 35 in Shield and has consistently struggled to convert scores into hundreds. Not good enough.
And building a pace attack around Siddle. Surely this is a joke. Has a huge heart and works his guts...
Didn't see Haddin's innings in Brisbane I assume??? Yeah he batted with Huss (which I think is irrelevant), but went against his natural instincts to dig right in, to save our innings along with Huss. Very mature innings that. Wouldn't be calling Hadds a downhill skiier after this series...
Ponting's not from NSW........better not list him. For a captain, he hasn't even looked like playing a captain's knock.
Listing Haddin shows you are a delirious fool - he's done more than enough this series with the bat, and has been only one of three batsmen capable of holding their head...
I've heard whingeing from Vics for the last 20 years about this so called 'NSW-bias'........it's getting tired. Funny thing is, Australia have been the dominant country in the world for about 80% of that time.
Selectors took a risk on a young guy by the name of SK Warne many years...
That's funny. Steve Waugh was 'suspect' against the short ball as well, and he went okay. Remember the 95 WI series when they bowled more bouncers than Inflation nightclub. He scored a double ton.
You have to laugh. All the whingeing going on from the Victorians because Hodgey didn't get a fair go, and the OP compares him to David Warner who opens the batting for a start, and has had all of 7 ODI innings!
I love all the people here having a red hot crack at the GFC's management for an off the cuff mark made by Balmey.
From financial and on-field basketcase, to two time premier within 10 years, built on the back of smart drafting, without bottoming out.
Yeah, it's just terrible management.
Love all the 'predictions' in this thread. Let's be honest, most of us have no idea who will win the first game of the 2011 season, let alone who's going to be competitive for the season and who's not.
How many of us picked the Pies to win the 2010 flag at the end of the 2009 season?
That's...
Mate, we get it, the Pies won the flag and anyone that had any doubts about it can go and get stuffed.
But, don't dare tell me that the way the Magpies handled the whole Milne-Malthouse fiasco was not a disgrace.............premiers or not.
The fact that Hauritz didn't even look like taking a wicket on a fifth day pitch in India is exactly what's wrong with this team.
How Smith isn't playing in this side, I have no idea.
Spot on. 2 things I've noticed.
1. We've been outcoached. Rnd 19 proved that the Pies had the game plan to beat us, we had to mix things up. We've done the same thing that's been successful for the last three years, but clearly is not good enough against this team.
2. I get the feeling...
Re: Bomber playing mind games? I don't like this
I can't wait for Friday night and I'm very quietly confident. The Pies finished top by half a game with a percentage inferior to ours, yet everyone says that the Cats haven't been at their best this year, and the Pies are near on unbeatable...
Re: AFL 2nd Qualifying Final - Geelong v St Kilda, MCG, Friday 3 September 7:45PM
If we go out in straight sets, I can sleep well knowing we've won two flags in three years, and even then knowing the Pies will still probably choke in the big one if they get there. When was your second last...
Re: Suck it up
Ross Lyon just said that the week off will only work to your advantage if it's used properly. Too true. If we get there, I'll back us to the hilt.
Suck it up
Forget the umpiring decision, it's done. Let's feed off it and prepare well for next week., and come out and play well.
Not too many teams could come back the way we did after the rain came.
We played badly and still came very close.
I know what we can do, and I'm not writing...
Congratulations Sainters. Better team on the night and really set it up in the first half. The scoreboard really did flatter the Cats. You would have thought that teams would have figured out that letting Goddard roam free is a recipe for disaster. Uses the ball so, so well.
Enjoy the...
This kid's courage was effectively questioned during the week. To see him come out and continue to put his head over the ball and attack the footy was great. At least two instances in the second quarter showed why he get the frees he does.
The kid is a star.
I know alot of Pies supporters tonight who think it's their god-given right to win the flag after beating the Cats. I'm waiting for the Andy D press conference to announce the cancellation of the rest of the season.
I would have thought that if Harry had of moved 'horizontally' he would have moved much closer to the fence, not SJ.
Anyway, it's done. Good luck to him.
