Wowee, we are getting sledged by the gypsies of the AFL. Mate, your club is only there as it’s propped up by the AFL and it’s uneven distributions, but you’re not the only club reliant on that anomaly.
Should have moved to Hobart when you had the chance
How do you know what Blair and Francis think though? They may not see the same thing being spruiked by the media.
If we trade up, there’s a reason for it. If we don’t, they are happy with talent available at our picks.
They’ve done the research
Yep, and I think people actually need to have some faith in the fact that Blair has been doing this for many years, and might know a thing or two about managing a list and requirements on draft night!!!!
I’m not sure RFC are involved now, but if we are, it was rumoured Port and GWS were also involved. Don’t really see how that would help get a trade done, but I originally thought North have asked for a certain return that we couldn’t do without the involvement of those other clubs.
Not so sure...
I agree with you that it’s potentially fraught with danger trading your F1, no doubt at all. But if your club really wants into the early part of this years draft, you may need to trade it. If it was my club, I’d be reluctant to do it, but depends how they rate this draft and ability to use it...
We got him from Port Adelaide in 2010 from recollection. He’s very good at what he does, I’ve been to a number of presentations and he’s a great planner.
A genuinely good bloke to talk to as well.
I think it’s got a lot to do with discussions we have had with North about pick 2 at a guess. They will have outlined what they are after and we will try and strike an arrangement with other clubs that gets close to what we, they and the other clubs want.
The rhetoric that we will just shaft...
Yep, it’s the only reason why two other clubs have been invited into the conversation. Blair is a tough but fair negotiator and will try to get North something close to what they are asking, as well as obviously looking after RFC interests. How that looks in the end, who knows at this stage.
I agree with you. I just cannot work out what the deal outcome will be by including Port and GWS in the negotiations for pick 2. Surely has to include 6, but C4[2]Yo`DooR has said 6 & 24 are off the table. And what benefit will be there for each club, as none of the clubs will want to give up...
Whatever floats your boat, I’m still very content with where we are at. Bottomed out at the perfect time, and have 1/3 of the first round picks in a very good draft year, after winning 3 flags I never ever thought I’d witness.
Sucks being last for sure, but the pain we suffer now after saluting...
Why are Richmond under pressure? Last time I looked, we had 8 of the first 24 picks and your team has 1?
I don’t think either side is under pressure to do anything to be honest, but something is brewing if Port and GWS are reportedly being dragged into discussions.
Wait and see I guess
We are resisting trading pick 6, so none of those scenarios will be accepted by Blair. It’s a wait and see for me, especially with Port and GWS now said to be involved too.
Won’t have to cross that midfielders bridge with 6 I reckon as the way Rawlings has acted with your list management, and the report we’ve been talking to Port about our pick 10, gives a reasonable indication that our clubs have some kind of trade in mind for pick 2. Whether that eventuates or...
They’ve clearly set their price which Blair couldn’t meet with what we have, without giving up 6. Why do you think it now involves other clubs? Because we need them to satisfy Norf, and not give away what we don’t want to lose.
Hmm, the fact that we have been talking to GWS, Port and Norf doesn’t ring any bells? Seriously! We are clearly after pick 2 if we can get it at a price Blair is happy with.
