yes, because playing for essendon he would have had the same amount of opportunities, delivered with the same amount of efficiency that he got at the saints last year.
if kosi played for essendon not only would he be our highest vote getter, biggest mark taker and leading goal...
That's just plain silly. The merger option was open to any and all AFL clubs, Brisbane chose to take up the offer. Even disregarding that fact, Fitzroy wasn't exactly flooded with talent at the time of the merger. In fact pretty sure that of their three premiership teams only Chris Johnson...
i think there is a spot for him as a flanker. not really up to the task of taking on a key forward.
some people on here seem to think "best 22" is a side of absolute superstars. your best 22 still includes some fringe players and they still serve a purpose.
also don't expect myers, pears...
possibly my favourite of all our youngsters (or maybe a tie with frog). in my opinion has shown more than gumbleton has. love the fact that he always gives a contest and doesn't give up once the ball hits the ground.
i think the OP is spot on. 8 - 15 games and 30 goals would be a good outcome.
"Frog Taken Off Endangered List"
Alwyn manages to play majority of season.
"Old Dons Taught New Tricks"
Neagle and Gumby show they have what it takes to take over from Lucas and Lloyd.
"Buddy Taken For A Ryder"
Paddy keeps Franklin goal less as the Bombers surprise the Hawks.
2006 aside, sheedy had a horrible recruitment record post-2000 which was part of the reason he was delisted.
and comparing giving bradley's 4 years vs hislop's 2 is pointless because it was sheedy that kept bradley around and knights that has got rid of hislop.
given the fact i...
me and my mates call pev "Gonzo" because he looks like the muppets character.
i just like shouting LEEEROY every time Jetta goes near the ball - in reference to Leeroy Jenkins of Warcraft infamy.
last year we spent the last 7 weeks "a mathematical chance" of making finals. i know the draw is done differently this year, but normally the final 8 is decided by about two thirds of the season through. i don't see why this year should be any different. i agree with knighter in taking the...
i bumped into him at a bar a few years ago. they'd just come back from losing a tough game in perth and he was clearly completely buggered and just wanted to relax. never the less drunk evs05 thought it would be a good idea to go say hello. so when bowden slipped off to the dunny and he was...
yeah the weight of expectation has completely destroyed gary ablett junior's career
note: don't even think about rebutting this comment with something about nathan ablett.
i love mark mercuri, but you've gotta remember he was runner up in the brownlow in 1999 and one of our best in the all conquering 2000 side. we all know how his 5 year contract turned out, even if it was caused by personal issues.
brown might be a great player but 5 years is an awful long time...
they didn't "take them over". bigpond / afl.com always had the replays, but they forced bomber.tv to not do it anymore due to copyright. complete BS when you consider that you can't even pay for the afl.com replays you HAVE to be on bigpond internet for them to work. so ridiculous.
don't you remember? the saints won the pre season cup this year and sent a message to the footballing public and all of the gullible media fools that they are the big threat to geelong.
i would prefer to make finals.
mainly because i have a bet with a mate about who will finish higher out of us and carlton and if we make the finals chances are carlton won't.
having said that i think we should be a little realistic. it is incredibly uncommon for a club to come from the bottom...
i was at that game. the weirdest thing about it was the way the fans around me were all talking at quarter time (when we were already what, 9 goals down?). i distinctly remember one old lady saying "they'll have to play much better than that in the second quarter". it was inconceivable that we...
we have been terrible at kicking out for about 5 or 6 years and clearly its an area that matty knights hasn't looked at yet because we aren't getting any better.
my favourite is when we go to a huddle at CHB and then only 1 or 2 players break from the huddle with all the tenacity and speed of a...
20th in the league for centre clearances. i think he is extremely over rated by essendon fans. he is valuable to us because we have a lack of in and under ball winning players, but he wouldn't get a game at many of the top 8 clubs where it is required that you are not only able to get the ball...
After the last two weeks 9th or 10th is mathematically possible but would still be a big effort. I certainly don't think we are going to be a top 8 side. Let's not get ahead of ourselves here - we beat the 15th placed eagles without their second best player (kerr) and the blues who were coming...
please tell me that's a joke.
what crawford said on the footy show last night was absolutely spot on. if its good enough for crawford and richo it's good enough for scotty. the guy is a champion and i'd be gutted if he left. but if he has a good year next year he'll get a guernsey in 2010...
i think dustin fletcher has been guilty of this over the last few years - even when not under a great deal of pressure.
this year he hasn't done it as much because of knight's policy of ensuring our players don't have an impact on the game when they are in our defensive half of the ground.
