I am currently looking to get some part time or casual work around the south eastern suburbs of Melbourne in order to earn some extra income.
I am 33 years old, and have only had 1 job in my life (same role I have been in for the past 13 years), so I do not have any skilled qualifications or...
thanks for the replies so far - I will probably ring the club on Monday morning and explain what has happened... have learned my lesson from it though and will now place my membership in my backpack or have the membership card in my wallet.
The lanyard that came with the membership pack really...
I have lost my Carlton FC Premium Gold Adult 11 Membership Card.
Mods: are you able to sticky this thread for approximately a week so that people that may be returning from the game are aware that I have lost my card?
Details on the card are - Shaun Bla####, Level 2 of the MCG (N56) and Level...
Re: Training @ Waverley Park (meeting players)?
Great to see some friendly banter... I knew that I would get some eventually being a supporter of the CFC. Might even wear my Carlton top into the shop and see how many funny looks I get?
Re: Training @ Waverley Park (meeting players)?
Thanks for your reply - shall see if I can get Friday off work so that I am able to get here there...
:)
Just wondering if anyone knows what time Hawthorn train at Waverley Park on Thursday? My fiancé (Gaylene) is a keen Hawthorn supporter and she has this week off work so I was thinking of taking her up to the ground to watch the Hawks players train.
Also, do they have facilities in the club shop...
I have memory fond memories of Princes Park, my first ever real game of football that I paid any attention to was Round 3 in 1993, when Hawthorn were ahead for most of the game until Kernahan kicked a goal to put us ahead.
I remember the crowd in the Heatley stand going nuts when Kernahan...
Re: The Official 'I'm not going to the GF because those corporate a**holes took my tickets..." Threa
Even though we are not in the Grand Final ('we' being Carlton) I do sympathise with a lot of supporters here with the availability of GF tickets...
Always have the option of shelling out...
I have just visited the Southport Sharks website and I have heard from people that they have a rather large fanbase and their membership is into the 1,000's...
It is no wonder why they have a large membership base, I have downloaded a membership application form and the membership fee is...
I think most clubs would be against the idea of a 17th licence for a few valid reasons:
- The talent pool of players would be reduced amongst all clubs
- The re-introduction of a 'bye' each week, corporate money down the drain?
- Television rights and not being able to see your club on TV...
Re: Cousins missing in L.A
That always seemed a bit 'sus' to me that he was picked up by two blonde women in a sports car... perhaps he has decided to do some of the popular tourist attractions?
Disney World, Universal Studios, Hollywood Walk? Santa Monica Pier? I would perhaps start with...
Well who knows... maybe he wants to do it again?
And also he may feel more comfortable now that he is based with a Melbourne club, in the end the only person that truly knows the exact reason he left and joined Carlton is Chris himself.
I would have thought the answer would be:
Because he wanted to come back to Melbourne, and eventually after much consideration chose Carlton due to our new board, coach, culture and up and coming list. He also may see it as a challenge to himself personally to see how he can go in a team...
Carltin Blues? hmmm.... no such a club me thinks!!!
Maybe you meant to say Carlton?
Edit: Just looked down at the keyboard, I and O are rather close together! :D
Don't think many Carlton people (including myself) are giving Judd the label of the greatest person in the world - will leave that up to you.
You expect someone who will be playing for the club to PAY for a jumper to sign? So I presume we can apply this to other areas of the club? Perhaps if...
Is this sour grapes perhaps? Would you still be carrying on like this if Ben Cousins did nothing wrong and was still on the list? Losing Judd and Cousins both within a few weeks is not ideal for the club - but if I recall... Judd wanted to come back to Melbourne and Cousins, well he just stuffed...
After the recent death of Chris Mainwairing (RIP) West Coast decided to 'retire' his No. 3 for the next three seasons as a mark of respect.
What do you think will happen with Ben Cousins' Number 9? Will it be retired for a season until a new kid comes in via the draft? The process they have...
Just wondering if this is even possible:
If the AFL come out and sanction West Coast over the Ben Cousins issue by removing some of their draft picks (let's say 3, 13, 20) would this then make the trade for Chris Judd void in some way in a legal way?
By all means I do not want to lose...
John Nicholls... I'm sure I mentioned him and funnily enough he played in the midfield as a ruckman - or doesn't that count?
I also did not realise that the Brownlow Medal was a midfielder-only award, I kinda feel for the rest of the blokes down back and up forward who are playing the game...
There is an article on yahoo.com.au with some quotes from AFLPA Chief Brendon Gale. So we have heard from 'them'
AFL executive to be briefed on Cousins
AFL Players Association chief executive Brendon Gale denied that Cousins' arrest on drug charges was proof that the league's...
Yes I understand that at first he came back from the addiction and the rehab clinic in America and a lot of people refer to drug addiction as a 'disease'. If this is the case, is also alcohol and nicotine (cigarettes) addiction also classified as a disease?
The point I am trying to make is...
I wonder how many West Coast supporters feel rather embarrased now that some of them gave Ben Cousins a standing ovation when he returned to football against Sydney.
I have recently joined the BigFooty forum and I see many supporters calling for his head and that he should immediately be...
One question that has not been answered (and I don't know the answer either)...
When do official AFL lists have to be lodged with the AFL?
If it is a while away, West Coast have plenty of time to get all the facts and then make the appropriate decision. I am pretty sure though that Ben...
As much as I would love to agree with you, I can't really see that happening. I would not be getting ahead of yourself just yet, wait for at least a few games to see how he goes in our side.
I have watched a few YouTube highlights of Chris Judd and have noticed his team-mates blocking...
You could easily grab that photo in it's original form, do a few tweaks with effects in Adobe Photoshop and end up with the same end result. It looks to be very flat in colours in some areas - could almost be paint by numbers!!!
Will never stop the negative talk from opposition supporters - they all still wish that they had the opportunity to have him on their list.
But unfortunately for them - and fortunately for us - he picked Carlton.
Sticks1977 :D
Funnily enough the VFL many years ago (before the renamed AFL) was formed in 1897 as a 'break-away league' so not really the first time this sort of thing has been attempted!
Carlton had this same issue with Lawrence Angwin and Karl Norman many years ago re: drugs.
They turned up to training completely 'stoned' and were subsequently sacked from the club. Sure they were not high profile players to the standard of Ben Cousins, but I feel this is the stance that WCE...
Funny you mention this, when the National Draft has been telecast on television in the past and the top draft picks have been interviewed or shown on camera - who is usually right next to them?
That's right... their PARENTS.
Sticks1977
