Judd is a soulless bastard!

A Piece of Carlton History Up For Grabs
Carlton’s goal to have a greater involvement in the community has certainly struck a chord with new Blue Chris Judd. Judd has wasted no time in putting his new status as a Carlton player to good use to assist the community.

Immediately after signing the official papers that will see him play for Carlton, Judd signed his first Carlton guernsey and offered it to the MAD Foundation (Make A Difference) as a fundraiser for disadvantaged children. Judd’s manager Paul Connors who has assisted the MAD Foundation over a number of years had the guernsey on hand to ensure this first signature on a Carlton guernsey would be used to make a difference in the community.

While his first signature following the media conference at Carlton was on the huge all hanging of himself in a Carlton guernsey, it is this first signed Carlton guernsey that is sure to be of great value. The Carlton Football Club is pleased to support the auction of this very special guernsey.

To register your bid, please forward your name, mobile phone number and email contact details, together with your bid amount to: dctoohey@bigpond.net.au

Bids close at 5.00pm on Sunday November 4th, 2007.

The MAD Foundation
The MAD (Make A Difference) Foundation Inc. is a not for profit organisation established to raise funds primarily to assist disadvantaged children and youth in the community.
MAD was formed in 2001 by group of long time friends who made a commitment to establish and foster the foundation. As parents of young children, they realised that by working together they could make a significant difference in our community. From that, MAD was born to Make a Difference.

The main objectives of the MAD Foundation Inc. are to:
Raise funds for specific projects for disadvantaged children and youth
Increase awareness for those groups through MAD events and networks
Challenge all of us to ‘step up and make a difference’ - encouraging us all that a little effort can make a big difference to people in need in our community and there are countless organisations and causes looking for support from people willing and ready to ‘step up and make a difference’

he will piss on his friends and **** his former club in the ass for 400 grand a year

sounds like a merc arseh*le to me

he could probably get a job at blackwater with his CV.

Wha the f are you? you on holiday? or maybe living and working over there?, that would make you a merc **** .
Judd has every right to sell his skill to whoever he wants you DH, just like you.

Exactly right.

Footy is a business these days. Players have every right to choose for whom they wish to work, just as we all do in the workforce.

oh i have no problems with judd working and playing for any club he likes, i had no problems with him going back to vic for family, and i dont even begrudge him going to play for the team that would pay him the most, that doesent make him mercenary. indeed i do do that, as we all have the right to

what makes him a mercenary was when he demanded that the eagles take an ass ****ing in the trade or he would double **** them by going into the PSD. he ****ed his old employer and pissed on all his friends there

and he did it for the money. doing unscrupulous things for money. thats what makes him a merc

Did Judd say anything along these lines, or is this just what the clubs & Paul Connors put out there? I don't remember seeing one interview with Judd during the whole trade process where he made any demands, other than wanting to go to the club of his choice, Carlton. The argy-bargy that took place resulting in these headlines (much of which was the figment of journalists/sub editors imaginations) took place between the clubs & the manager, not Judd.

so you agree, conners/judd ****ED the eagles? and he did it for carlton, to which previously he owed no loyalty whatsoever. hence we can safely assume they bought the sort of loyalty that means you will **** your friends and current employer for a few dollars more. and juddy was only too happy to bend them over.

mate, judd knew what conners was doing, he could have asked for him to treat the eagles with a bit of respect at any time, he chose to let them **** us. conner actions were judds, he is his manager, and acted according to his wishes.

and like the whore he is, he did it for the lucre

i cant believe you are trying to defend judds ****ing of his former club and friends by saying "oh his manager did it".

Judd made a decision based on what's best for him. Not what's best for his previous employer. Why should he be expected to disadvantage his new club for the benefit of his old one?

he owed west coast nothing more than what they owed him: respect. its not about advantaging carlton over west coast, its about treating his employer (former or current) and his friends with respect. judd chose not to do that.

judds respect for his former employer and friends was apparently bought for 400k a year by carlton and eliminated from the equation

thats why hes a whore and a mercenary

So if Judd demanded we give up pick 1, 3 and Fev that would make him more respectable? You do realise he wasn't in control of negotiations right?

If you view this as disrespectful i'd hate to think how you view Cousins actions.

that would have been screwing you just as badly as he screwed us, except carlton would have had a choice to walk away, whereas the the eagles were tied down.

you think he wasnt in control? he said "im only going to agree to be traded to carlton, and if you dont trade with them im going into the PSD". thats a fair bit of control right there.

he was in complete control, if he had of said to carlton "if you dont trade fairly with west coast then i will agree to be traded to collingwood". a realistic trade that was OK with all parties would have been rapidly forthcoming.

as it was, he was in carltons pocket at that stage, and quite happy to **** the eagles in the ass.

you brownbaggers are actually pretty funny trying to convince yourselves that judd acted fairly to west coast

"kennedy and 3 is actually a great deal for the eagles"

hahaha yeah right, you r*ped em, and you paid judd to do it

he didnt stab his friends in the back, hes a top bloke!

hahhaah

We did trade fairly with WCE.

How could be traded to Collingwood?

I think the Pies weren't offering more than 14 and Reid for Judd.

Given the circumstances, we could have held firm with 3 and Kennedy or 3 and 20 when we could have easily forced him into the PSD by putting a price on his head.

But we didn't and we traded two picks and a player for Judd.

The Eagles received a better deal from Carlton than they would have received from any other club.

People aren't happy if we're receiving AFL assistance or if we're spending Pratt's money to stand on our own two feet.

I wonder why people don't like Carlton starting to turn the corner both on and off the field? ;)

see! hilarious! you guys actually believe this stuff, dont you! hahahaha

if judd had an ounce of respect for west coast, he would have agreed to an open process, and agreed to at least two clubs, and allowed a bid to occur.

if he had a little less respect than that he could have selected only carlton and insisted that they deal fairly with west coast, and try to broker a deal that all sides would be happy with.

but nope, he screwed west coast, and carlton got the best player in the country for pick 3, a second rounder and an unproven fringe youngster, far far less than he is worth.

The Eagles received a better deal from Carlton than they would have received from any other club.
and this is the funniest of all. if you dont think at least 5 other clubs could have beaten that pathetic offer then your delusional

Stab his friends in the back? Don't be such a drama queen. Just because you feel jilted doesn't mean they do.

Why would Judd want a bidding war to occur? It benefits no one but West Coast and could leave him playing for Richmond or some other team he has no interest in. Taking control of the situation and his future isn't being disrespectful. It's common sense.

Is this sour grapes perhaps? Would you still be carrying on like this if Ben Cousins did nothing wrong and was still on the list? Losing Judd and Cousins both within a few weeks is not ideal for the club - but if I recall... Judd wanted to come back to Melbourne and Cousins, well he just stuffed up!

You mention that Judd could have agreed to an open process with two clubs, originally he nominated four clubs - Melbourne, Essendon, Collingwood and Carlton. It eventually came down to two as we know. Even if Collingwood and Carlton were the final 2 - do you think Collingwood could have matched or beat the Carlton offer? No - because they didn't want to.

Also if you happened to LISTEN to Judd's 1st press conference at Carlton he picked them because he wanted to be part of a team from the "bottom up" who had a new board, coach, culture and importantly - future.

What you fail to realise is we could have given West Coast NOTHING and let Judd pass through to the Pre-Season Draft and hope we pick him up. But instead we did a deal with them and funnily enough West Coast were adamant and determined that they WANTED Josh Kennedy. We gave them Josh plus some draft picks (which I doubt any other AFL club would have been willing to give up!)

Carlton have lacked on-field leadership in the past so I think this is one of the main reasons we made a play for Judd - and also that he nominated our club as his club of CHOICE. In the past few weeks we have lost Lappin, Koutoufides, Whitnall - three players who have had experience.

but nope, he screwed west coast, and carlton got the best player in the country for pick 3, a second rounder and an unproven fringe youngster, far far less than he is worth.

What number was Chris Judd drafted at again? That's right... No.3! (Luke Hodge and Luke Ball in front of him). Now providing you hang onto Pick 3 (depending what happens with the Cousins scenario) you may have the opportunity to pick up Trent Cotchin - who has been REPORTED to be better than Chris Judd at the same point in their careers.

But I have to wake up and smell the roses, some people - like you - will never be happy with the deal. Will you still be upset and pleading your case if Judd breaks down with his groin injury and the draft picks you have received, plus Josh Kennedy - turn into superstars?

Lastly - delusional... - you seem to think five other clubs could have beaten the Carlton deal? Even if they did, Judd and his manager may have rejected the trade as he wanted to play for Carlton. Plus did I hear rumblings in the media of better offers? Did Melbourne and Essendon put in offers? Nah... because he didn't WANT to play for their clubs!!!

I have only been on BigFooty for a few days now as a forum member, and have seen my fair share of ridiculous and uninformed posts - and yours is one of them. Go back under the rock that you crawled out from and hope that the AFL does not sanction your club for the recent indiscretions.

Just remember - Chris Judd could have walked away from West Coast giving them nothing in return - but a trade was offered and more importantly ACCEPTED by West Coast. So thank your lucky stars you at least got something!

Wow everybody!! Judd signed a football jumper .. that just about makes his the greatest person in the world!!!

The story would carry a lot more interest if he actually paid for the jumper, but Judd would still have the first 10 cent piece his parents gave him as a kid.

Don't think many Carlton people (including myself) are giving Judd the label of the greatest person in the world - will leave that up to you.

You expect someone who will be playing for the club to PAY for a jumper to sign? So I presume we can apply this to other areas of the club? Perhaps if he is out injured, he has to buy a general admission ticket like the rest of us to go to the game?

I am also sure that Judd would not have thought of the idea - more the marketing departement at Carlton, and considering the money raised is going to a charity - I applaud the idea.

It is also common place that the odd 'celebrity' that visits their chosen club is given a Carlton jumper by the club - they don't have to pay for it either... some notable from Carlton are:

Shannon Elizabeth, Sharelle McMahon and Adam Gilchrist to name a few...
