so speaking to a yc person this morning and apparently new president was voted in last night as previous one stepped away from the club due to other committments. I got told new president is Ycw's reserves coach from last year.
Dunno how true but I got told they only kept 1 executive member and still have 2 spots to fill on the executive and the rest of the general committee is pretty much new blood. Will definitely be interesting to see if off field effects the on field performance this season.
Miti had their AGM last week - haven't heard of any changes there.
Calivil had theirs on 6th Nov & I believe Rod Leas is still President
YCW have their AGM this Sunday, Marong hold theirs on 27th Nov & Bridgy will have theirs on 29th Nov. As for Inglewood, P/Hill, Serp & Newbridge not sure...
I heard 9 have left, some gone with Auld others out to Strath. Any other news around the traps, usually the rumour mills are in full swing this time of year?
Has marong signed a coach as yet?
thats a problem in itself though isn't it,if he did get more coz of the publicity and not actually the incident then that is rubbish. Dunno if that was the case but if so than the Tribunal system needs to be looked at too.
what are everyones thoughts on the results tomorrow?? personally I think that YCW might sneak over the line against pyramid and I think Mitiamo's twos will be too strong for YCW's reserves...
Will Serp be able to knock Miti off this week to take the 5th spot??? I reckon most clubs in the finals would be preferring Miti in the 5 as Serp are definitely the dark horse who could take a surprising win.....
so can BL/Serp break into the 5 and play finals this year?? Miti still has to play Calivil & Serp in the last round - could 5th spot come down to this last game???
have any other clubs added any late recruits (prior to the june 30 cutoff) to help bolster their sides with finals soon approaching?
any thoughts on how the top 5 will end up with 6 rounds to go for all divisions??
what does everyone think about this weeks matches. I would think that Bridgy would find it pretty easy over Serp. Pyramid easily over marong. Inglewood v Newbridge could be closer than initially thought and YC v Miti would have to be match of the round...i think YC are 5 or 6 wins in a row currently
Haha so much for Ycw not being able to put together a good side. 5 snr blokes missing today & just knocked off pyramid hill @ pyramid hill. Your obviously a good judge of a football side.
This weeks tips look like the may be pretty straight forward
Seniors
YCW v BL Serpentine (6 goals)
Bridgewater v Calivil Utd (2 goals)
Mitiamo v Newbridge (close i think, 8 points)
Pyramid Hill v Inglewood (10 goals)
Reserves
YCW v BL Serpentine (11 goals)
Bridgewater v Calivil Utd (only...
so what is everyones tips for this round? As you can see I'm tipping YC to cause a few upsets this week and start their year off strong
Seniors
YCW by 23pts
Bridgy by 18pt
Mitiamo by 60pts
Newbridge by 30pts
Reserves
YCW by 45pts
Marong by 10pts
Mitiamo by 40pts
Newbridge by 30pts
U17
YCW...
I heard the P/Hill are struggling to get numbers for their reserves due to the new coach, don't know how much truth is in it though. I drove past YC training last week and they had about 30 odd or even a few more running around.
Anyone got any practice matches coming up since the season is...
Congrats to all the winners, it would look like by the size of some of Marongs u17's that they will lose a few for next season due to age?
As for the venue for the grand final, what grand final runs out of beer before the 3rd quarter of the Seniors game? Wouldn't you order enough as it would...
Bridgewater are hosting the Grand Final
YCW & Calival have the Semi's (which depends on when calival play)
and the other 3 finals are at Inglewood, Marong & Newbridge (not sure of who has what)
YC won't get the Granny, they will hold a final but it won't be the granny or the prelim. I believe there is the LVFL meeting tonight where all final venues will be decided. Calival would definitely have to hold it if their Snrs don't make it, otherwise I would think Bridgy is probably next in line.
bridgy paid no respect to YCW and quiet frankly ycw played as a team and worked hard, kept the voice up and deserved the win, and i don't think bridgy were too happy about it. Also YC's U17 knocked off bridgy yesterday which was classed as an upset too as bridgy smashed them last time. This win...
sounds like pyramid through and through, they are forever going for the player and not the ball, and most of the time behind the play, 'bout time something was done and they were pulled into line
the central umpire cannot over rule a goal umpire. The goal umpire can speak to a central umpire but his decision is final, not the central umpire. In this case the goal umpire is a paid bgo umpire, not a club umpire and it was a goal umpire that YC had paid to attend on Saturday, it is true...
