Inglewood last had the granny a few years back when Calivil beat Marong. For memory, Newbridge, Serp, Marong, Miti and Inglewood have had it over recent years.
Depending on how the finals go, you would think that Bridgewater or YCW could be in line to hold the granny this year. But then again, I'm not sure how they decide.

Yeah i reckon it would be bridgys turn although if calivil dont make it (unlikely) it will probably be at calivil as their 1's have played in the last 6 grannys and would be well overdue for the big one:)

where would be the smartest place to have it ? bridgey or ycw ? i think ycw because of its location but bridgewater isnt far away from bendigo so will be interesting . . .

if it come down to those 2 places i think bridgewater would be better because there facilities are alot better than ycws. yes ycw is in town, but as you said bridgy isnt far out and have better facilities, e.g. rooms, canteen(s), and general room around the ground for supporters. thats of course assuming bridgys seniors dont make it, which theyre going to be in finals so you cant underestimate them. it will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Whats with the importance of these possible finals venues and there proximity to Bendigo,? its the Lodden Valley league not the BFL. If people have a genuine intrest in the granny they will travel.

Are you serious? Better facilities? Bridgeys bar is the clubrooms? YCW would be way better because of the main bar, clubrooms and grandstand. Not putting poop on Bridgewater, but YCW would be the better choice. It will be interesting to see who actually makes the big one anyway, looks pretty even with the top 3........

Should play the Grand Final at Eaglehawk, this would allow the League to make maximum dollars, then the money can be used to pay the full time football people at the Hub.

My tips for round 17
Seniors:
P/Hill 100+ points
Bridgy 85 points
Calivil 45 points
Miti 20 points

Reserves
P/Hill 100+ points
Bridgy 110+ points
Calivil 40 points
Marong 6 points

Under 17
P/Hill 50 points
Bridgy 10 points
Newbridge 10 goals
Marong 45 points

YCW's juniors struggle to travel...the side is always weaker when played at the hill. perhaps this shows their commitment?
their commitment ?? you could say the same for when pyrimid hill 17s played at ycw's home ground and ycw beat them easily

good idea actually, fixes all problems because eaglehawk have better facilities than both bridgey and ycw, its a good surface, the only problem would be the eaglehawk footy club, they will be selfish as usual.

YOu wouldn't necessarily have to worry about the Eaglehawk Footy club. I would assume that the council would control the ground out there so all you would need to do is book with them and should be fine.

Now having said that if I were arranging it I would expect to give the Eaglehawk guys the oppotunity to make a few dollars on the day somehow

Pyramid had the same team in that day, except for a 12 yr old kid that was at the ground but unable to play because of illness. I think you'll find the difference was that YCW's kids make the effort when they don't have to travel far. hence..the commitment.

Nah, YCW went to Pyramid Hill in Round 3. YCW U 17s didn't have a full list of players at that time.

well i wont go on with this completely because its worthless, but all ile say is ycw struggled 2 have enough room 2 host the prelim final last year, there were cars parked around in fir st that were there 4 the footy, theres always alot more at gfs, so theyd really battle there. only my opinion.

That's ridiculous. What facilities do you need to have a grand final? And to say you would give the eaglehawk guys an opportunity to make some money...that would be taking the money away from the LV Club who has the right to hold the grand final and cater for it.

Imagine if your club had waited 8 years to host the granny and was told, "sorry guys you miss out, a club from another league is going to host it and make a heap of money from it".

YEAH, GREAT IDEA!

yer i agree
and why was there any talk of the granny even being played at eaglehawk they arent in our league. its the loddon vally football league not the bendigo football league

few upsets today with marong just getting over the line against pyrimid hill and ycw defeating bridgewater by 3 goals (amazing what a near full strength side can do!!)

wasnt at either games so dont know how they panned out really . . ????

YCW getting up would have to be one of the biggest upsets for the year. It shouldn't have a huge effect on the ladder, but Bridgy should be a bit worried after that effort.

Miti have also let slip a great opportunity to stay on top of the ladder.

Was at the Marong v Mitiamo game. Marong were 26 points behind going into the last quarter. Kicked the first 4 goals of the game, before they hit the lead. Mitiamo then kicked a goal to take back the lead, but with about 2 minutes remaning, Marong kicked another goal to take back the lead and hang on to a 2 point win. Sensational game off football

bridgy paid no respect to YCW and quiet frankly ycw played as a team and worked hard, kept the voice up and deserved the win, and i don't think bridgy were too happy about it. Also YC's U17 knocked off bridgy yesterday which was classed as an upset too as bridgy smashed them last time. This win boosted u17's from 5th to 3rd due to serp beating p/hill in the U17's. Could make for interesting finals in the junior comp!

was one of the best games of footy ive seen for a long time. the pressure and phyisicallity was finals like, a brilliant game if both sides play like that in the finals theyll both have a big impact on the outcome of things this year.
